INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
Sydney (Australia). —At about 1.15 a.m. on the 21st ultimo, Zacharias Nicoloudakis, who was asleep in a bedroom above his cafe which he conducted in Elizabeth Street, was attacked by a Man (name unknown), -whose motive -was apparently robbery, and dealt a heavy blow on- the head with some blunt instrument, resulting in his death a few hours later. The only description of the assailant available is that supplied by the victim before his death to the effect that he was a tall thin man wearing dark clothes. - Any information which would assist in affording a clue to the identity of the murderer is to be communicated to the -Commissioner of Police, Wellington.
