MISSING.
Wanganui. — the 30th August last, Alfred George Smythe, alias Frederick Burt, alias Burrell, age forty-six, height 5 ft. 10J in., labourer and hairdresser, native of Finland, medium build, fresh complexion, black hair going bald, brown eyes. On the 30th August last he was interviewed at Wanganui Police-station concerning his identity, and gave the name Patrick Joseph O’Connor. He arranged to return the following morning for the articles described hereunder, which he left at the police-station, but has failed to do so : A suit-case, containing shaving accessories, old tools, and personal effects, and a gentlemen’s Earl bicycle, No. 88784, 22 in. frame, Major Taylor handles, rattrap pedals, Brooks saddle. (This bicycle may have been stolen). If located he is to be requested to call at the Wanganui Police-station and collect the property. Nelson. — the 21st ultimo, Nita Dorothy Solomon, age eighteen, height 4 ft. 10 in., factory hand, native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, brown shingled hair, brown eyes, clear skin, good teeth, straight nose, small features ; dressed in a black skirt, red and grey woollen knitted jersey, small green hat to match coat, dark silk stockings, and black shoes. Inquiry by her father, Ernest Albert Solomon, 114 Nile Street,_who desires her, to be induced to return home.
