Between the 26th January and 2nd March last, from 51 Henley Road, Mount Eden, the property of MATILDA TOWNSEND, an 18 ct. gold wedding ring, with “ Betty ” on one side and “ Bob ” on the other side; a small 9 ct. gold ring, set with two diamonds and three pearls ; a gold oblong wristlet-watch, with gold expanding wristlet, fancy lettering on dial, minute-hand missing; and a gold oblong wristlet-watch which needs repairs, gold expanding wristlet: total value, £4l 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to her divorced husband, Arthur Reginald Townsend, age forty, height 5 ft. 10 in., salesman, strong build, ruddy complexion, brown hair and eyes. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Hamilton. —25th June last, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Defence Department), a -303 calibre S.M.L.E. rifle, barrel No. 2060, butt No. 320, with webb sling attached ; value, £7. Identifiable. The rifle was stolen from outside the Marist Hall where it was left by Alan Leslie Malins while he attended a dance.

Mokau. About July or August, 1933, from the farm of RAWEA TE HUIA (also known as MRS. HARVEY), Mahoenui, a half-draught dark bay mare, age about five years, half white blaze on nose; a three-quarter draught light bay mare, age about seven years, white face ; and a half-draught light-brown gelding, age about seven years, white star on forehead : total value, £75. Identifiable.

Stratford. ultimo, from a suit-case in the Town Hall, the property of WILLIAM MacDONALD, Juliet Street, a seven-chambered revolver, No. 130287 ; value, £l. Identifiable.

Wanganui. the 17th November, 1921, and the 9th May, 1929, the property of HENRY MARK KEESING, 13 Campbell Street, a Browning automatic pistol, No. 15685 ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Watpukurau. On the 28th ultimo, the dwelling of DONALD STACEY DOUGLAS, Takapau Road, was broken into and the following stolen: A suit of grey pyjamas with pink stripes ; a gentlemen’s navy-blue suit, fit a man about 5 ft. 11 in., “ Chas. Small, Napier” on coat, waistcoat, and trousers; a fibre suit-case, size about 24 in. by 20 in. by 12 in., with cane bands around it; a white Luvisca shirt, size 4; and a brown poplin shirt : total value, £lO. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, dark complexion and hair; sharp features ; wearing a blue suit and felt hat.

Martin borough.— 2nd May last, the property of LESLIE MONCRIEEF NUTT, farmer, Dyerville, a metal Westclox pocket watch; a fibrecane case, size about 36 in. by 18 in. by 8 in., with three wooden bands around it; a pair of 18 ct. gold sleeve-links, oval pattern, with “ L.M.N.” in monogram engraved on them ; two locknit singlets; and a book on bridge: total value, £5 16s. 6d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Reginald George Smythe, referred to in Police Gazette, 1933, page 486, and Photographs, 1919, page 21.
