Dargavtlle.— lßth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £l9 6s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife and five children, Frederick Harvey Campbell, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 8J in., tailor, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair and eyes, scar on left hip and inside left knee ; usually well dressed. Auckland.— lßth ultimo, for breaking and entering the shop of Adam Gall, Ohinewai, Two Men (names unknown) — (1) Height about 5 ft. 7 in.; (2) about 6 ft.; both wearing dark overcoats. They had a three-seater English motor-car. No warrant.

Auckland.— 2sth May last, for theft of a bicycle (recovered), value, £3, the property of 'Eric Michael Boyd, Riki Road, St. Helliers, Arthur B. Church (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair; wearing a shabby light-fawn gabardine raincoat and grey trousers repaired at knees. Accused stole the bicycle and sold it to Asher Robinson, second-hand dealer for 15s. No warrant.

Auckland.— 3lst May last, on warrant for theft of a ring (recovered), value £7, the property of Gladys Parkes, 12 Lawrence Street, Charles Godfrey Houten, age sixteen, height about 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and musician, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, ginger hair, blue eyes, tooth missing from left side of bottom jaw, slightly stooped ; plays a violin ; wearing a navy-blue or grey sports coat, grey trousers and vest, dark tweed overcoat (no hat). Accused stole the ring and made a present of it to his cousin, Thora Jane Hestor Robins. There are other charges pending. Ufcuoriri /y 7, U L +-

Auckland. —14th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Florence Amelia Pye, 30 St. Benedicts Street, John William Pye, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., carpenter, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, black hair, grey eyes, scar on outside of right ankle. Stratford. —lsth ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, A. E. Sutton, age about thirty-eight, height about 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, fresh complexion, light-coloured hair, grey eyes, scars on left forearm ; wears a glove on right hand, which has been injured; dressed in a brown suit and shoes, grey socks, light felt hat, silk scarf of brown and grey diamond pattern, and grey tweed overcoat; speaks about buying farms. Accused obtained £5 from Thomas Lane Penn, accountant, by means of a valueless cheque for that amount. There are other charges pending, and a warrant has been issued at New Plymouth for his arrest for a similar offence. Lane, in the care of . the Education Department, Charles Patrick Lane, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer and hotel porter, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion and hair, grey eyes ; impediment in speech; fond of drink. Arrears to 26th May last, £23 4s. (See Police Gazette, 1931, page 367.)

Wanganui. —7th April last, that a summons may be served upon him for assaulting William Langslow, labourer, Andrew Reid (name probably fictitious), referred to in Police Gazette, 1934, page 277 .&44A4 J *

Wellington. 29th March last, for false pretences, Mrs. Brown (name probably fictitious), about middle age, height about 5 ft. 3 in., slight build, dark complexion; wearing dark clothes. Accused obtained a dark-brown walnut sevenvalve Precision Atwater Kent radio-set (model No. 627, serial No. 1116678, beehive shape, table size), value £27 10s., from Robert B. Eowler, radio-dealer, T. and G. Buildings, Lambton Quay, by falsely representing herself to be Mrs. Brown, of 23 Riddiford Street, Wellington. She had a motor-car outside the shop, and was permitted to take the radio on trial. No warrant.

Wellington. —2oth April last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for eight days in default of paying £2 15s. fine and costs for being found on licensed premises during prohibited hours, Victor Norris, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 9 in., plumber, native of New Zealand, dark complexion, brown hair and eyes, portion of left forefinger missing, scar on left arm, left middle finger bent. Greymouth. —2oth January, 1933, on warrant of commitment to Whangarei Prison for three months in default of paying £64 10s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his two children, Thomas Marsh, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 9 in. labourer and coal-miner, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, hair turning grey, 1 grey eyes, scar on one leg ; erect gait; pleasant manner. Timaru. —14th ultimo, on warrant for theft of a spiritlamp, value £1 10s., the property of Louis Edyvean, manager, Cecil Wood Co.. Robert KirkneSS, alias Jackson, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 54 in., painter, native of New Zealand, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, scar on left wrist and on left thumb, birthmark on right side. Wellington. (l) Herbert Swan, club steward, who, on the 28th April, 1922, registered a Winchester repeating rifle. (2) A, M. Stevenson, warehouseman, who, on the 16th May, 1922, registered a -22 calibre single-shot rifle, No. 653.
