Auckland. —Between the 7th and Bth ultimo, from a room in Civic Buildings, Queen Street, the property of GILBERT PATRICK O’SHANNASSY, a Remington typewriter, model 10 A, No. R.X. 81493 ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the sth and 7th ultimo, from 164 Hobson Street, the property of WILLIAM THOMAS OSMOND, an H.M.V. portable gramophone, No. 170157, model C. 101, black case with water-mark on outside of it; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the 31st ultimo and Ist instant, the dwelling of WILLIAM JAMES CONNORS, Riddell Road, was broken into and the following stolen : A dark-brown leather attache-case, size about 18 in. by 12 in. by 5 in. ; a pair of Zeiss Binoctar field-glasses, “ 6 ” or “ 7 ” between eyepieces, “ W.J.C.” scratched on brass under one eyepiece, and only seen when eyepiece screwed to limit; a buckskin tobacco-pouch; a gentlemen’s Rotherhams open-face nickel watch; and a pair of gentlemen’s leather boots, size 9 : total value, £25. Auckland. —Between the 22nd December and Bth January last, the dwelling of WILLIAM LYALL WISEMAN, 57 Gillies Avenue, was broken into and the following stolen : A gentlemen’s dinner-suit, fit a man about 5 ft. 9 in., may have “ Larritt, Tailor, Auckland,” on coat-tab; a pair of gentlemen’s brown shoes, size 8, made by D. and M. Campbell; a pair of grey flannel trousers, size 5 ; a grey Stetson hat, size 7 ; a set of gentlemen’s silk pyjamas, with black, white, and pink stripes; a cocktail-shaker; a Baby Ben alarmclock ; an electro-plated teapot; and a blue imitation leather suit-case, size about 24 in. by 12 in. by 6 in., “ N.R on side : total value, £3O. Identifiable.

Auckland. 6th instant, the property of FRANK OSCAR PEAT, curio-dealer, Titirangi, a double-barrelled breechloading shot-gun, 12-gauge, No. 176046, made by National Arms Co. ; value, £lO. Identifiable. The gun was stolen from a building which was destroyed by fire.

Suspicion is attached to Three Men (names unknown) —(1) Age about thirty, height 5 ft. 10 in., medium build; wearing a grey suit: (2 and 3) ages about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 6 in., strong build, wearing dark clothes. Complainant was assaulted and robbed by the suspects.

Auckland. —Between the 12th January last and 12th ultimo, from the dwelling of WILLIAM JOHN MAHER, 125 Wellesley Street West, a small cardboard-box, size about 4 in. by 1 in., maroon velvet on inside, containing an 18 ct. gold heart-shaped tie-pin, with an opal set in centre ; an 18 ct. gold wedding ring; and a ladies’ gold brooch, shape of spreading wings : total value, £l2 Is. Identifiable.

Onehunga. —Between the 6th and 20th February last, from a garage, the property of HENRY DAVID EVANS, 6 Newsome Street, a -22 calibre single-shot Winchester rifle, model 1920, No. 21 on barrel; value, 15s. Identifiable.

Papakura. Between the Bth and 9th instant, from a fowl-pen, the property of FRANCES ELIZABETH MASSEY, Wairari Road, Takanini, thirty-nine two-year-old black Orpington hens; twenty-four Orpington pullets ; and a black Orpington rooster, some with yellow and some with yellow-and- green leg-rings on them; value, £23 14s. Identification doubtful.

Thames. —Between the 3rd and sth ultimo, from the dwelling of FLORENCE MABEL OLIVER, Puriri, an 18 ct. gold engagement ring, set with three rubies with small diamonds in centre ; a coral necklace, about 30 in. long ; and an orange celluloid box : total value, £9 2s. 6d. Ring and necklace only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Alma Pickery, age seventeen, height 5 ft. 5 in., domestic, stout build, copper complexion, dark hair and eyes ; a Maori. She has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

—Between the 3rd and sth February last, from a room in Mrs. Johnston’s boardinghouse, Mary Street, the property of JOHN BROWN, a pair of gentlemen’s black shoes, size 8 ; a blade razor ; and a razor-strop : total value, £1 16s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Nairn, age about twenty-six, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair ; wearing a dark fawn suit, brown felt hat, and white canvas shoes. Complainant and suspect occupied the same room, and when the latter left the property was missing.

Mokau. — instant, the property of ARTHUR CUTHBERT FUNNELL, farmer, Mahoenui, a gentlemen’s openface silver watch, large hand broken, dent in back of case ; a silver watch-chain ; a Bengal blade razor ; a shavingbrush ; a pair of gentlemen’s black boots, size 7 ; and 2s. 6d. in money : total value, £3 17s. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to James McAnderson, alias Thomas Orr (referred to in Police Gazette, 1931, page 134, and Photographs, page 24), wearing a blue suit with tear in trousers above knee, reddish-brown overcoat, black boots (no hat).
