Wiiangarei. Between the 16th January last and 3rd ultimo, the dwelling of NORMAN BERGSTON BAIRD, 9 Tawera Road, was broken into and the following stolen : A gentlemen’s blue nap overcoat; a pair of blue serge trousers; a blue serge waistcoat; a pair of gentlemen’s black leather shoes, size 7 ; a straw boater hat, size 6|, branded “ Hallenstein Bros.” ; a ladies’ gold chain bangle; a quantity of children’s underclothing, &c. : total value, £5. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Reginald Arthur Hamhiyn, referred to in Police Gazette, 1933, page 644, and following paragraph. 2y $ 2 L /~

Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Reginald Arthur Hamblyn, referred to in preceding paragraph, and when last seen he was wearing the latter complainant’s property.

Auckland. 9th January last, from 48 Cook Street, the property of THOMAS NEVILLE, a gentlemen’s navy-blue serge suit, blue label inside pocket of coat with “ Fox Serge ” on it; value, £4. Identifiable.

Auckland. —On the 29th December last, the dwelling of ERNEST CECIL CORDING, 5 Tirohanga Avenue, Remuera, was broken into and the following stolen : A ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring, set with five pearls in straight claw setting; a ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring, set with a diamond in claw setting; a gold ring, set with a pink cameo; a ladies’ dress ring, set with three rubies and four diamonds in claw setting ; a ladies’ gold bar brooch, set with a large aquamarine; a necklace made of seven pieces of amber with gold connecting links between each piece ; and £3 in money : total value, £23 12s. 6d. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. — Between the 3rd and sth ultimo, the factory of ERNEST GREEN, 1 Jersey Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A small blue clock; a gentlemen’s nickel pocket - watch; a Swan fountain-pen ; and three blank cheque-forms on the Bank of New Zealand, Newton, Auckland, Nos. B 76126, B 76127, and B 76128. The lastmentioned cheque was found on 16th ultimo. It had been filled in “ Pay Mr. J. Robertson £5 55.” and signed “ Ernest Green,” the signature being a forgery. Total value, £1 6s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —6th ultimo, from Customs Street, the property of THOMAS HARRY CARTER, 10 Symonds Street, a brown leather case, size 30 in.. by 20 in. by 8 in., made to cany cutlery, containing fifty-three pieces of cutlery, comprising dinner knives, dessert knives, dessert forks, dessert spoons, soup spoons, serving spoons, a carving knife and fork, and a small bread knife (the knives are stainless and have “ Viners ” brand on them); four Royal Doulton plates ; hire-purchase agreement-forms ; and a price-list. The cutlery is in an oak cabinet with a polished walnut lid : total value, £ls. Identifiable.

Auckland. 26th December last, from a motor-car in Victoria Street West, the property of OSWALD Me WILLIAM GOOD, Commerce Street, Frankton Junction, a brown leather kit-bag, size about 20 in. by 12 in., containing a fuji silk shirt, size 5 ; a pair of light-grey sports trousers; a. pair of tan leather shoes, size 7, Triumph brand, &c.: total value, £7. Between the 12th and 14th January last, the dwelling of EDWARD EVANS, 54 Valley Road, Mount Eden, was broken into and the following stolen : A gentlemen’s gold watch ; a tie-pin ; and a pair of sleeve-links (recovered); a gold bangle, set with pearls and a turquoise; a gentlemen’s fuji silk shirt; a tobacco-pouch, with “ E.E.”.in gold on it; a tie-pin, with shamrock-shape top, &c. : total value, £2l. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to R. M. Mastro, age about forty-seven, height about 5 ft. 9 in., strong build, ruddy complexion, grey hair; wearing a dark suit and felt hat: and F. Smith, age about fifty, height about 5 ft. 10 in., thin build ; wearing an overcoat. Portion of the stolen property was sold to a gold-buyer.

Papakura. Between the 30th and 31st January last, from a room in Montgomery’s Boardinghouse, the property of GEORGE ALEXANDER HODGE, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold hunting Elgin watch, movement No. 16605636 ; a pair of fancy socks : total value, £3 13s. 6d. Watcjh only identifiable. Matamata. — 15th ultimo, from a motor-car, the property of GLADYS MARY THOMAS, a brown leather suit-case, with “ G.M.T.” stamped on it, containing clothing; a will of Geoffrey Thomas; an open Treasury cheque for £1,200, payable to complainant; a purse containing £2 55.; and sundry papers. . Identifiable.

Inglewood. —loth ultimo, from the dwelling of CHARLES COTTON STAPLETON, Egmont, a light-brown leather purse, size 4 in. by 3 in.; a small silver brooch, with “ Boys and Girls Agricultural Clubs Winner ” around edge, “ C.S.” on back ; a pair of horn-rimmed spectacles ; and 17s. in money : total value, £3. Portion identifiable. Suspicion is attached to TWO Men (names unknown) Age about twenty, slight build; wearing dark clothes, white canvas shoes; dirty appearance; a Maori: and (2) age about twenty, slight build, dark complexion and hair; wearing dark clothes and white sand-shoes; dirty appearance.

Wanganui. —23rd ultimo, from 11 Somme Parade, the property of DORIS MAY BOOKER, £2 in money. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Frank Jackson (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-three, height 5 ft. 9 in., strong build, tanned complexion, dark hair (close cropped) ; two upper front teeth gold-filled ; wearing a fawn sports coat, blue trousers, brown and white sand-shoes (no hat). Suspect was staying at same address as complainant, but disappeared on the night the money was stolen. He may be identical with man of same name referred to in Police Gazette, 1933, page 395.

Wanganui. Between the Ist and 2nd December last, the dwelling of VEDA WHALE, 75 Harrison Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A gentlemen’s navy-blue suit, vent in back of coat, fit a man about 6 ft.; a gentlemen’s double-breasted khaki overcoat; a ladies’ saxe-blue frock, with blue trimmings on front; a ladies’ navy-blue frock; a ladies’ black silk coat; and a boy’s overcoat, made by H.B. Clothing Co., Wanganui: total value, £l4 ss. Identifiable.

Wellington. —On the 17th ultimo, the dwelling of THOMAS BRODIE, 213 The Terrace, was broken into and the following stolen: A gentlemen’s gold open-face keyless Elgin watch, “ C.G.8.” in monogram on back case ; a leather bound silver-mounted whisky-flask, with silver cup attached; a silver cigarette-case; and a silver match-box. The flask, cigarette-case, and match-box have the Wellington College badge, and “ Presented to T. Brodie by Wellington College Old Boys ” inscribed on them : total value, £ls 15s. Identifiable.

Wellington* Between the 27th and 28th ultimo, from Upland Crescent, the property of JAMES HAROLD SHILTON, 14 Upland Crescent, a Baby Austin tourer motor-car, painted smoky-blue, celluloid windows which are broken, registration No. 48-805, engine No. 58-305, chassis No. 57-687 ; value, £SO. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 7 in., stout build, blue eyes, scar on right side of face; wearing grey trousers, navy-blue coat, grey slouch hat, and white canvas shoes with leather strap across toes. The car was seen near New Plymouth on the 28th ultimo.

Dunedin.— the 2nd and 6th ultimo, from 3 Norman Street, Anderson’s Bay, the property of FRANCIS SPENCER HANGER, a motor-trailer, registration No. L. 1-674, Michelin tires and tubes, drop front and back, side marked by wheel; value, £25. Identifiable.
