Gisborne.— llth instant, that he may be interviewed regarding non-payment of bis unemployment levy, Percival Charles Matson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1933, page 229. In April, 1931, he was granted exemption from payment of the levies, but on 24th March last he was arrested for obscene language when a post office savings-bank pass-book was found in his possession showing a credit balance of £IOB. The Labour Department now desires that he be asked to show cause why the exemption should not be cancelled. ,

Waitara. —24th ultimo, for failing to comply with/the ' conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Allan John Williams, age nineteen, height 5 ft. in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes. A condition of his release on probation was that lie pay £5 9s. 6d. restitution. She left for Australia by the s.s. “ Wanganella ” on the 6th July last, but before leaving she obtained on credit a pair of ladies’ shoes, value £2 9s. 6d., from Messrs. Hallenstein Bros., by fraudulently concealing the fact that she was about to leave the Dominion. She was accompanied by Thomas Taylor, referred to in Police Gazette, 1933, page 552, and they travelled as Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thompson. (See following paragraph.)

Nelson. —3oth June last, on warrant for obtaining credit by fraud, Thomas Taylor, alias Thompson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1933, pages 524 and 552. He obtained on credit a pair of boots and a pair of shoes, value £3 55., from Messrs. Ilallcnstein Bros., by fraudulently concealing the fact that he was about to leave the Dominion for Australia. He was accompanied by Mrs. Jean Bain, referred to in preceding paragraph. There are other charges pending.

Westport. Charles Walter Penrose, failing to maintain : It has been ascertained by the Wellington police that the offender is now in Australia. (See Police Gazette, 1933, page 334.)

Christchurch. —Bth instant, on warrant for theft of two suits, six shirts, and two singlets (recovered), value £ls Bs. 6d., the property of New Zealand Farmers’ Go-operative Association, Ashburton Basil Harry Fleming, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 9| in., showman, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, scar on right side of forehead, on left knee, and on back of neck; dressed in a brown or blue suit and felt hat.
