Auckland. —Between the 17th and 18th May last, the premises of MURRAY SHOE CO., Crummcr Road, were broken into and the following stolen: A pair of gentlemen’s black box-calf Derbv shoes, size 9 ; two pairs of gentlemen’s black box-calf Oxford shoes, size 8 ; a pair of gentlemen’s dark-tan willow-calf Oxford shoes, size 9; a pair of gentlemen’s black glace-kid Oxford shoes, with patent toe-caps, size 7 ; a pair of gentlemen’s patent leather Oxford shoes, size 6 or 7 ; a pair of gentlemen’s black calf Oxford shoes, size 7 ; a pair of ladies’ imitation crocodile-leather shoes, size 4 ; two pairs of ladies’ patent shoes, lizard-skin inset in vamp, sizes 4 and 5 ; a pair of ladies’ champagne-coloured shoes, inset with imitation lizard-skin, size 3 ; and a' pair of ladies’ kid shoes, size 6 : total value, £9 9s. Suspicion is attached to George Smythe (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 8 in., slight build, dark complexion, darkgrey hair, blue eyes; thin face, large nose; wearing a dark or heather coloured suit; carrying a napsack ; in possession of a bicycle with red tires. Wairoa. —Between the 29th and 31st July last, the shop of HENRY ALFRED PIDDUCK, Marine Parade, was broken into and the following stolen : A Browning automatic rifle (recovered); a -22 calibre single-shot rifle, English make, No. 200904; and four boxes of -22 calibre ammunition: total value, £8 13s. Moturoa. —During the evening of the Bth July last, from a motor-car at Ngamotu Beach, the property of RAYMOND PORTEOUS, 21 Shelly Beach Road, Auckland, and another, a small vest-pocket German camera, Contessa Nettle brand, 6*3 lens, in black leatherette case, bound with aluminium ; a Pyrex dish, 8 in. or 9 in. in diameter; and a piece of Pyrex crockery, oblong shape, 12 in. by 6 in., with lid and handles : total value, £6 15s. Napier. — the 13th April and the Ist May last, the property of HUGH ALEXANDER McQUILKIN, a •22 calibre Winchester repeating rifle, No. 625020, model 1906 ; value, £2 10s. Identifiable.

Wellington. — the 25th July last, the dwelling of LILLIAN ASHWORTH, 107 Tinakori Road, was broken into and the following stolen : A gentlemen’s gold-filled watch (recovered); a red and black Morocco leather handbag, size 10 in. by 7 in.; a motor-driver’s license, No. 6285, in name of “L. Ashworth ” ; motor-registration papers, referring to an Essex motor-car, in name of “ L. Ashworth ” ; and £l3 15s. 9d. in money: total value, £22 ss, 9d. Identifiable except money.

The cash-box was found in a public lavatory in Herd Street, and the brief-bag and canvas bag containing 9s. lid. in pennies found in a vacant section in Tory Street.

Between September, 1931, and March, 1932, the property of SIGNOR GIOVANNI FORMICHELLA, Italian Consul, 52 Central Terrace, an Eiber Spanish automatic pistol, 6-35 mm, model 1912; a certificate of registration, No. 369014, dated 29/3/30 ; and a license to retain, No. 3538, dated 1/4/30: total value, £1 10s. Between the 25th December and 16th July last, from 61 Coromandel Street, the property of JAMES HENRY HOLLAND WILTON, two gold medals, with raised monogram, “ N.Z.A.A.A.” on one side, and“N.Z. Amateur Championship, 440 yards, J. Wilton, Ist.” engraved on the other side, one is dated 1900, and the other 1914: and a gold medal, with shield in centre, with “ Well. Prov.
