Accused obtained £325 from James John Patterson, farmer, Manaia, by falsely representing that the Craftsman Manufacturing Co. of New Zealand had altered its method of business, and had bought four large premises in the four centres of New Zealand, and to provide more funds the company had allowed original shareholders to take a certain proportion of fresh shares at the original price.
