INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.

Sydney (Australia). —During the night of the 14th ultimo, Elizabeth Isabel O’Connor, age sixteen, was murdered in National Park, and inquiries are to be made for the Man (name unknown) described hereunder who is suspected : Age about twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 9 in., slight build, dark complexion, black hair parted in centre and oiled, high forehead, prominent cheek bones, deep-set eyes, hollow cheeks, pointed chin, fresh scratches on left side of face, well-kept finger nails ; broad shoulders ; erect gait ; dressed in a blue serge sac suit, cream fuji-silk shirt and collar, tan shoes with square toes, and wears a gold signet ring on left little finger; well spoken. A new “ Green Mountain ” tomahawk, which was stolen from a motor-car, and which is still missing, is thought to be the weapon used by the murderer to kill his victim. (P. 32/1614.)
