Memorandum.] Payments for Rations Supplied to Prisoners at Lock-ups and Police Gaols on behalf of Prisons Department. The Controller-General of Prisons advises that the rates payable for those rations supplied to prisoners for which the Prisons Department is liable in respect of Police Lock-ups has been amended, and as from the Ist November, 1932, will be at 2s. 6d. per ration. This will not affect Wellington and Christchurch stations. In respect of Police Gaols, excepting Dunedin, the rates payable for those rations for which the Prisons Department is liable has been amended to 2s. 9d. as from the Ist November, 1932. W. G. Memorandum.] Postal Addresses on Correspondence. In order to facilitate the sorting and delivery of correspondence, the Postal Department has divided the metropolitan areas of Auckland and Wellington into postal districts, each of which has been allotted a distinctive postal indicator. It is desired that the indicator be included in the address of all correspondence forwarded to places in the metropolitan areas, thus, “ Police Station, Remuera, Auckland S.E. 2.” - .
