Auckland. Between the 20th and 22nd instant, from the armoury at the Auckland Grammar School, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Defence Department), four Vickers -22 calibre single-shot rifles, branded “ MK. 1 EHK.” They are four of the following : Rifle No. 1513, barrel No. -V>-35Q8; 1517, barrel No. V. 3151;. 1518, barrel No. 2022 ; 15214, barrel No. V. 2248 ; 1526, barrel No. V, 2917, five thousand one hundred rounds of -22 R.F. Nobel’s non-rusting ammunition, in boxes of one hundred rounds per box; and six army ground-sheets, each stamped with broad arrow : total value, £l9 19s. H. Kemp, marked “ itfot Negotiable”; a gold cable chain bangle, . with safety chain and padlock attached; and £2 ss. lid. in money : total value, £ll 17s. 6d. Cheque only identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the 17th and 18th June last, from 54 Cook Street, the property of JOHN SHINE, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold Elgin hunting keyless watch ; a gentlemen’s gold double watch-chain, fetter and oval pattern, with a mounted pendant of quartz gold in centre; a sovereign; a small note-book; and 12s. 6d. in money : total value, £2l 12s. 6d. Watch and chain only identifiable.

Auckland. Between the 17th and 18th June last, from 54 Cook Street, the property of JACK TOLICH, a gentlemen’s 15 ct. gold open-face keyless watch; a 15 ct. gold watchchain, small fetter style, with nickel sovereign-case attached ; and Bs. in money : total value, £2O Bs. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. —sth instant, from a garage, the property of JOHN HENRY McCRORIE, Ngaio Street, a cheque for 12s. on the Bank of New Zealand, Otahuhu, No. 1509, drawn by the Otahuhu Borough Council in favour of J. 11. McCrorie; and £6 in money. Cheque only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Herbert Bidduiph, referred to in Police Gazette, 1932, page 64, and Photographs, 1930, page 10. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Taumarunui. —22nd ultimo, from a room in the Grand Hotel, the property of GILBERT RICHARD BRANSCOMBE, care of Burns, Philp, and Co., Auckland, a fibre suit-case, size about 39 in. by 18 in., label attached with “ Branscombe ” on it; two neglige shirts; a pair of black woollen gloves; a pair of gold cuff-links; a pearl tie-pin, &c. : total value, £3 10s. Identifiable.

Wanganui. Between the 20th and 21st instant, from a motor-car, the property of HAROLD BRUNTON, traveller, care of Gollin and Co., Wellington, an imitation leather suitcase, size 24 in. by 10 in.,.containing ladies’ woollen cardigans, assorted styles and sizes ; and a roll (50 yds.) of tea-towelling : total value, £27 18s. 3d. Wanganui. Between the 9th and 10th May last, from a shed at Westmere, the property of the estate of CATHERINE HUNTER (deceased), a blue-grey “New Beauty” fiveseater Ford motor-car, 1925 model, grey canvas hood, engine No. C. 702600, registration No. 68-687 (1929-30); value, £45. Identifiable.

Wellington. —23rd June last, from' a motor-car in Bond Street, the property of THOMAS REGINALD HOWELL, 56 Melbourne Road, a gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold Zenith watch, “ T.R.H.” engraved on outside of back case, “T. W. Howell” scratched on inside of back case; and a 9 ct. gold double curb watch-chain : total value, £l7. Watch only identifiable.

Between the 19th and 20th instant, the shop of JAMES EDWARD RABBITT, Main Road, Ngaio, was broken into and the following stolen : Five pairs of gentlemen’s black shoes, Equity make, sizes 7,8, and 9; a pair of gentlemen’s light-brown shoes, size 8 ; four pairs of gentlemen’s black boots, Equity make, “ 401 ” stamped on inside, “ L.L.8.” on soles, sizes 6,7, 8, and 9; two pairs of ladies’ house shoes, sizes 5 and 6 ; sixteen pairs of boys’ black boots, Equity make; nine pairs of girl’s black shoes, Equity make; twelve pairs of black leather laces on card marked “Paragon”; and a book entitled “Black Prince Peter,” by A. Between the 27th and 28th June last, the premises of LEO BLAKE AND GO., LTD., 106-108 Dixon Street, were broken into and the following stolen : Three brick- and blue-coloured silk frocks, to fit a girl about nine or ten years of age ; two gentlemen’s dressing-gowns ; a pair of gentlemen’s white tennis trousers; a pair of gentlemen’s dark cord trousers, size 6 ; a ladies’ navy repp frock, trimmed with blue facings ; and a tweed coat, 36 in. long : total value, £7 7s. 3d. Identifiable.
