Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). Between the 3rd and 9th April last, a hut at Waiwera, the property of DR. BRUCE McKENZIE, 28 Princes Street, was broken into and the following stolen: Eighteen blankets; eight pairs of sheets, branded “Bruce McKenzie, Beach House”; a tent and fly, branded “Le Roy”; a tent, branded “Army Stores ” ; a -22 calibre Winchester rifle, in green canvas case ; one thousand rounds of -22 calibre ammunition; twelve pillow-cases, branded “Bruce McKenzie”; twenty-four coloured towels ; a quantity of tinned fruit, &c. : total value, £45. Between the 19th and 20th May last, from the dwelling of VISCO SECTANOVICH, Panorama Road, Ellerslie, a gentlemen’s silver open-face watch; and al4 ct. gold double watch-chain, square locket attached, set with a ruby : total value, £B. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to William Smith, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Hamilton.— On. the 16th instant, the dwelling of FREDERICK GEORGE CLARKE, 20 Abbotsford Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A gentlemen’s 18 ct. gold fetter and oval watch-chain, similar to illustration, No. 21, in Supplement to Police Gazette, 1911, page 2; a guinea locket, dated “ 17 ” (and two other figures) on one side, and set with a blue-grey stone in the other side; a rolled-gold eversharp pencil; a sovereign ; a child’s gold cable bracelet, with heart locket attached; a plain gold brooch ; a ladies’ plain gold armlet; and two gold broken bangles : total value, £ls. Hamilton. —On the 9th instant, the dwelling of JAMES CARSON, 15 Hinemoa Street, was broken into and the following stolen: A gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold hunting Waltham watch, with “ Presented to J. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, medium build; wearing a dark grey suit and cap.

Gisborne. Between the 4th and 9th April last, from the shop of WILLIAM PERYER, Gladstone Road, a -22 calibre Remington automatic rifle, No. 3673, value, £lO. Identifiable.

Wanganui. 27th ultimo, from a motor-car, the property of DALLAS WALKER, a gentlemen’s double-breasted brown leather overcoat, extra large size, one belt loop missing, lined with green, black, and striped material; value, £7. Identifiable.

Levin. Between the 29th May and 12th ultimo, from a. sawmill at Manakau, the property of SAMUEL ERNEST MEREDITH, a main driving-belt, 66 ft. long, 12 in. wide ; two red Balata webbing-belts, each 60 ft. long by 10 in. wide ; two grey Balata webbing-belts, 60 ft. and 70 ft. long, by 5 in. wide respectively ; an emery grinding-machine; about twenty chains of \ in. Allan Whyte galvanized wire-rope; two Price’s wooden timber-jacks ; two steel jack pinions and handles; two pulleys for fitting into blocks; three large steel blocks, marked either “ L and R ” or “V ” or “ P ” ; three small steel blocks; and 18 in. of tractor-chain, &c. : total value, £216 17s. Between the 15th and 16th instant, the shop of ARTHUR OWEN POWELL, Manakau, was broken into and the following stolen : Six pairs of ladies’ Peerless silk hose ; four pairs of ladies’ black cashmere hose ; a pair of gentlemen’s tan shoes, “Monarch ” brand, size 9 ; a black leather wallet ; six gentlemen’s open-face nickel watches; six ladies’ rolledgold Medama wristlet-watches, with expanding wristlets attached; three rolled-gold Medama half-hunting keyless watches; ten gentlemen’s nickel wristlet-watches; two brown fibre suit-cases; a quantity of cigarettes and tobacco, assorted brands; a gentlemen’s fancy pull-over, &c. : total value, £44 13s. lid. Carterton.— 29th January last, the property of JAMES BOYLE, farmer, Gladstone, and another, a double-barrel breech-loading shot-gun; 12 bore, made by Holloway and Naughton, Birmingham, No. 41650; and a ladies’ black enamelled bicycle: -total value, £5 17s. 6d. . Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Frederick William Bennett, referred to in Police Gazette, 1931, page 295, and Photographs, 1926, page 5.

Between the Bth and 9th instant, the Wairarapa Bacon Factory, Taylor Street, the property of WILLIAM JURGEN CANDY, was broken into and the following stolen : A cheque for £1 on the Bank of New South Wales, Carterton, drawn by H. L. Herrick; a cheque for £1 Is. on the Bank of New Zealand, Greytown, drawn by Svenson Bros.; a cheque for £1 Is. on the Bank of Australasia, Featherston, drawn by W. O. Benton; a cheque for £1 15s. 6d. on the Bank of New Zealand, Martinborough, drawn by W. B. Martin ; a cheque for £2 os. 3d. on the Union Bank of Australia, drawn by F. E.
