Whangarei. — Between the 2nd and sth instant, from a road-roller at Waiotu, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Public Works Department), a 6-volt Reliance battery, 611 A.S., No. 19327 ; value, £2 15s. Identifiable.

Auckland. — On the 10th May last, the dwelling of JOHN HENRY RYDER, 1a George Street, was broken into and the following stolen: A gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold open-face watch, “Hamilton” on inside of back case; a gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold curb watch-chain ; a 15 ct. gold medal, with “ Token of Honour to J. H. Ryder, from the residents of Tuakau ” engraved on it; a gentlemen’s silver watch, silver dial, gold hands ; a ladies’ diamond cluster ring ; a gold ring, set with a large turquoise; a gold bracelet ; a pearl tie-pin; and a string of red beads : total value, £72. Identifiable.

Auckland.26th March last, the property of ARTHUR NELSON WILLIAMS, 45 St. Paul Street, £1 17s. 6d. in money. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Stewart FergUSSOU, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 10 in., porter, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion and hair ; wearing grey sports coat, grey trousers (no hat). Between the 9th and 10th instant, the dwelling of EDWARD KEITH KIRKCALDIE, 70 Salamanca Road, was broken into and the following stolen : A platinum bar brooch, set with a sapphire in centre, surrounded by four small pearls, small pearl near each end of bar ; a white Scotch pebble brooch, set with a blue turquoise and gold forget-me-not in centre, pin has been repaired; a rose-and-cream-coloured ivory brooch ; an ivory brooch, with blue forget-me-nots on it; a gold bar brooch, with large peail in centre, surrounded by six small pearls ; a pendant, set with sapphire in centre, surrounded by six small pearls on platinum ring, and gold bar with three small pearls on it, with fine gold chain attached ; a pendant, set with pearls and about thirty small diamonds, with fine platinum chain attached ; a pair of gold earrings, with two half-round pieces of gold attached near top ; a pair of semi-circle gold earrings ; a gold locket, with photograph of old man and woman inside ; a pair of amber earrings; a pale opal stone ; a pearl necklace; an amber necklace, with flaw in one of the larger beads ; and a brown leather jewel-case, size 8 in. by 34 in. by 2-| in., lined with brown velvet :, total value, £SO. Christchurch.On or about the 12th instant, the store of GEORGE GORDON SUTHERLAND, Annat, was broken into and the following stolen : An iron safe, size 42 in. by 30 in. ; twelve gentlemen's wire-twist grey shirts; six grey flannel Union shirts, “Our Special” brand; four pairs of gentlemen’s railcord trousers ; two pairs of gentlemen’s moleskin trousers ; twelve pairs of gentlemen’s denim trousers ; four pairs of grey saddle-tweed trousers ; two pairs of engineers’ twist grey trousers, “Standard” brand; six pairs of Palma nap trousers, assorted sizes and colours ; a quantity of cigarettes and tobacco, assorted brands ; a cheque for £l6 10s. on the Union Bank of Australia, Ltd., Christchurch, drawn by Q. Dunedin. — On the 28th May last, the dwelling of WILLIAM REYNOLDS FRASER, 3 Steep Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A ladies’ blue-glass half-hoop ring, with enamel and fancy design on it ; a ladies’ gold ring, set with an olivine stone ; a ladies’ gold ring, set with three opals and several pearls (two pearls missing) ; and a ladies’ gold curb bangle, with padlock and farthing attached : total value, £l4 10s.
