PERSONS WANTED.

Kaitaia. —18th March last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, of whom Ada Peri, domestic, Herekino, is the mother, George Grbich, age about twenty-six, height 6 ft., labourer, native of Dalmatia, strong build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes; usually well dressed in a blue serge or grey suit; quiet manner. Whangarei. —2nd instant, on warrant for false pretences, Gerald Staynton (name probably fictitious), age about twentyfive, height 5 ft. 7 in., native of England, slight build, fair complexion, wavy fair hair, blue eyes, straight nose, long features, cultured and amiable and of good appearance; dressed in light trousers, grey double-breasted sports coat (no hat). Accused obtained £2 16s. 6d. cash and two papers, value Bd., from John Patrick Woods, stationer, Cameron Street, by means of a valueless cheque for £2 17s. 2d. /aft*. 7~%1ii13 K Ponsonby. —l3th ultimo, that proceedings for failing to notify his change of abode (Arms Act) may be instituted against him, Charles W. Auckland. sth instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for two months in default of paying £3O 15s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Sidney Sheridan, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 10 in., shepherd, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes, protruding upper lip ; slightly stooped. Auckland. 29th ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Herbert Gordon Lewis, referred to in Police Gazette, 1931, page 527, and 1932, page 193. He has failed to make restitution of 95., and in consequence is still on probation. His arrest is desired.

Auckland.— llth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £5 fine for making a false statement under the Births and Deaths Registration Act, Stephen Francis Amy, referred to in Police Gazette, 1931, page 736. Auckland.— On or about the 26th February last, on warrant for theft of a postal note for 75., the property of Rose Sawers, 15 Aitkens Avenue, Ellerslie, Robert Bell (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 4 in., native of New Zealand, thin build, dark complexion and hair ; delicate appearance. Accused advertised Le Bons face cream and powder for sale at 3s. 6d., and offered* to each purchaser an electric-comb free of cost. He received many postal notes which he cashed. There are other charges pending.

Hamilton. l4th March last, on warrant for false pretences, Grenville Harper Glover, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. 7 in., traveller, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair fresh complexion, dark-brown hair/ blue eyes, broken nose, prominent front teeth ; dressed in a light-blue or fawn suit. Accused obtained £5 from Roger Newness, labourer, Frankton Junction, by falsely representing himself to be a director of the Transil Manufacturing Co., Auckland, and was appointing agents in the Hamilton district. Christchurch. 27th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Eva Jean New, Alfred Vincent New, age thirty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in., carpenter and motor-body builder, native of Australia, slight build, dark completion, black hair and eyes ; well (fo! 3*2. Mosgiel. — loth February last, on warrant for false pretences, William Allan, age forty, height 5 ft. 7 in., blacksmith, native of New Zealand, stout build, dark ruddy complexion, dark hair and eyes ; dressed in a blue serge suit and light soft felt hat. Accused obtained as a deposit on ten shares, £1 from George Albert Renton, chemist, by falsely representing that he was still in the employ of the Stewart Island Fish and Oyster Co., and had authority to sell their shares. He was dismissed from the company’s service on 22nd January, 1932. He may be identical with Allan William Wisliart, referred to in Police Gazette, 1931, page 145. There are other charges S/ywJxInvercargill. —6th instant, that he may be interviewed regarding theft of a purse containing four 55.-pieces (recovered), and a »tie-press, William Kelly, age about sixteen, height 5 ft. 3 in., native of Scotland, sallow complexion, dark hair, brown eyes, projecting teeth; dressed in a navy-blue suit (long trousers), and blue overcoat (no hat), and is in possession of a Massey bicycle.
