PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland. —11th June last, on warrant for theft of £lO the property of Harvie Oil Turbine Motor Co., Ltd., engineers, Keane’s Buildings, Samuel Francis Dickey, referred to in Police Gazette, 1932, page 233. Accused, who was employed by the firm above-mentioned, received on behalf of his employers £lO, which he failed to account for. His motor-car, clothing, and pension certificate were found at the Pipiroa Ferry, near Thames. Offender knows the back country well, and may be hiding in some Maori camp. There are other charges pending. His photograph is filed.

Auckland. — Paul Augustine Martin, forgery and uttering’ referred to in Police Gazette, 1931, page 163 : It has been ascertained by the Wellington police that he was sentenced to fine or three months for false pretences at Adelaide, South Australia, on 25th February last. He is also wanted at Wellington, vide Police Gazette, 1931, pages 54 .and 117.

The cheque was from a cheque-book on the Bank of Australasia, Te Aroha, issued to Potts, who has been deceased for one year. Suspect may be identical with person referred to in the following paragraph.

Christchurch. 23rd December last, on warrant for false pretences, T. L. George (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-two, height 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, fair complexion, brown hair ; well dressed in a brown suit, brown shoes, and light-coloured socks. Accused obtained a ladies’ handbag and attache-case, value £1 ss. 6d., and £2 2s. 6d. in cash from Reginald Frederick Alston, 239 a High Street, by means of a valueless cheque for £3 Bs. The cheque was from a cheque-book on the Bank of Australasia, Te Aroha, issued to Potts, who has been deceased for.one year. Suspect may be identical with person referred to in preceding paragraph.

Christchurch.2nd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for six days in default ol paying £1 15s. fine and costs for using an unlicensed motor-car, Clyde George Fizelle, age about thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 6 in., canvasser, native of Australia, slight build, fair hair and complexion ; dressed in shabby grey clothes. Accused is also wanted at Timaru on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for forty-eigm; hours in default of paying 17s. 6d. fine and costs for breach of Motor- vehicles Act. /

Dunedin. —On or about the 20th December last, on warrant for theft of £2 10s., the property of Alexander Watt Guthrie, 122 Cannongate, Robert George Ring, alias Pring, age thirtyfive, height 5 ft. 5 in., canvasser and labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, bald, flat broken nose, upper teeth artificial, with tooth missing from plate; wearing a blue-grey suit and fawn felt hat. Accused was given money to pay to the Perpetual Trustees Estate and Agency Co., Ltd. He failed to pay the amount and disappeared. There is a similar charge pending.
