Accused obtained a loan of £lO from William John Armstrong, Security Traders, Ltd., financial agents, High Street, by falsely representing himself to be Martin Daley, who is employed by the Auckland Electric-power Board. No warrant.

Auckland. 4th ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Victor Roche Bond, referred to in Police Gazette, 1928, page 809, and 1931, page 759, and Photographs, 1931, page 20. He has failed to make restitution to the amount of £33, and consequently his probationary license has not expired. He left for Australia in December last, but should he return to this Dominion his arrest is desired.

Pukekohe.27th January last, on warrant for theft of a cheque for £3 155., the property of Thomas Ernest Atkins, farmer, Waiuku, Joseph Leo Lafferty, alias Leonard Francis Lafferty, age forty, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, hazel eyes, cross and “ In loving memory of my dear Mother ” on right forearm ; usually dressed in a dark-blue suit and grey felt hat. Accused, who was employed by complainant, received from his employer a cheque for £3 15s. for wages. The latter discovered that he had overpaid 75., and gave a fresh cheque for £3 Bs. to accused, who refused to give up possession of the first cheque. He subsequently cashed both cheques at Pukekohe.
