PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. 2sth ultimo, from the dwelling of LANCELOT HOLMES DICK, milkman, 6 Gladstone Road, Northcote, £6. Suspicion is attached to John Alexander Morris, age twentyone, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, curly dark hair, brown eyes ; dressed in a blue suit (no hat). The suspect had been previously employed by the complainant.

Putaruru. —15th instant, the property of HERBERT ROBINSON, farmer, Overdale, a blue four-seater Whippet one-door coach motor-car, with black,, mudguards, engine No. 17947, chassis No. C. 17986, registration No. 40-727, wooden wheels painted black, dent in back of hood ; and black and white rug; total value, £l5O. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Joseph Tutre Collins, alias Jim Montague, referred] to in Police Gazette, 1927, page 227, and Photographs, page 74, who was employed on a neighbouring farm, and left without drawing his wages /tycf/crubcC/ 9 b!6

Rotorua. —Between the 7th October and the 29th November last, from a paddock, the property of ALFRED WARBRICK, Lake Tarawera, a dark-brown four-year-old thoroughbred filly, with long black mane and tail, about fifteen hands, left hind foot white, front hooves split; value, £IOO. Identifiable.

Napier. —l3th ultimo, from a motor-car between Auckland and Napier, the property of MABEL SINEL, 83 The Drive, Epsom, a brown composition portmanteau, about 3 ft. by 1 ft. 6 in., containing three children’s singlets, six hats, three pairs of shoes, eight crepe de Chine dresses, a cardigan jacket, bloomers, nightdresses, a ladies’ pink jumper suit; a book entitled “ Treasure Tales ” ; &c. : total value, £ls. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. 3lst December last, from the Majestic Hotel, the property of LAURA STANNARD, domestic, a ladies’ three-quarter-length grey squirrel fur coat, with greenish lining, fur buttons ; value, £SO. Identifiable.

Petone. — the night of the 11th instant, the warehouse of the CANADIAN KNIGHT AND WHIPPET CO., motor-car importers, was broken into and the following stolen : A green Tungar battery-charger, size about 18 in. by 10 in.; eight six-volt U.S.L. car-batteries; and two black twelve-volt car-batteries, with six white caps : total value, £79 10s. Identification doubtful.

Wellington.— the night of the 12th instant, the office of the NEW ZEALAND USED CAR MART, 230 Wakefield Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A green office safe, size 55 in. by 21 in. by 20 in., containing £7 6s. in notes and silver; a cheque, No. 357257, for £5, drawn by Mrs. J. Prior on Bank of New Zealand, payable to Mrs. Harding or bearer; a cheque, No. A. 019171, for £34, drawn by F. A. Bown, on Bank of New South Wales, payable to New Zealand Used Car Mart, Ltd.; promissorynotes and hire-purchase agreements between New Zealand Used Car Mart and the following persons : J. McCollough, A. A. Belesky, H. R. Brown, H. L. Widdop, J. W. Collins; a file of accounts ; ledgers ; cash-book ; &c.
