Machine identifiable. Suspicion is attached to William Mark Walsh and Conrad Edward McMahon, both age about nineteen. They were in possession of a red threeseater Jewett motor-car, registration No. 174-688, and were selling artificial flowers. There is no evidence against them, but they are' to be interviewed regarding the/offence.

On the 15th ultimo, the dwelling of ALEXANDER CRAN FAIRBAIRN, 95 Hawford Road, Opawa, was broken into and the following stolen : A gentlemen’s gold hunting Swiss watch, with dent in back of case ; a gentlemen’s gold Omega wristlet-watch, with luminous dial; and a gold-plated cigarette-case, with “ A.C.F.” on it: total value, £23 17s. fid. Christchurch. On or about the 16th ultimo, the property of FRANCES CHARLOTTE ALLINGTON, 308 Hereford Street, a four-year-old brown trotting gelding, registered as “ Young Drusus,” 15| hands, split on near front hoof, white hairs from top of fetlock to hoof on near hind leg; value, £2OO. Identifiable. On the 16th ultimo the horse was entrained at Templeton and consigned to Mr. Scott, Inangahua Junction, who took possession of a horse which was later discovered to be not “Young Drusus.” The latter was apparently removed from the train somewhere between Templeton and Inangahua, and another substituted.
