Lawson, age about twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 8 in., slight build, sallow complexion, fair hair, sharp prominent nose, upper teeth artificial and prominent, two eye teeth gold-filled, drawn features ; well dressed in a brown or grey suit, light-coloured soft felt hat, with ventilation holes in each side of crown, and brown shoes. Accused obtained £l2 10s. from Woollams and Co., chemists, Queen Street, by means of a valueless cheque for that amount, payable at Dalgety’s and Co., Wellington. He may endeavour to leave this Dominion. Other charges are pending.
