Murder.£loo Reward. (See Police Gazette, 1931, page 659.)

A reward of One Hundred Pounds (£100) will be paid for information which leads to the arrest of the person who, about 5.10 p.m., Friday, 30th October, 1931, at 7 Wellesley Street, Auckland, inflicted injuries to Arthur James Blomfield, chemist, causing his death. If more than one claimant for the reward, amount to be apportioned by the Commissioner of Police.

Murder. Auckland. —In connection with the murder of Arthur James Blomfield, referred to in Police Gazette, 1931, page 659, the Auckland police advise that the photograph of William Henry Yateman, alias Yeatman, referred to in Police Gazette, 1928, page 28, and that of Ernest Alfred George, referred to in Police Gazette, 1931, page 61, have been picked out as resembling in appearance the man who purchased the fish and chips which were found in the room where the crime was committed. Neither of the above-mentioned men is identical with the offender, but this information is published for the purpose of affording some idea regarding the description of the man inquired for. / /.At x-y ■)/ Murder. Picton. —About 8.30 p.m. on the sth instant, James Flood, a retired farmer, was found murdered in his hut in Canterbury Street, having apparently been dealt a blow which fractured his skull, after which his throat was cut, the head being nearly severed from the trunk. The deceased, who was seventy-five years of age, lived alone and was possessed of considerable means, invariably carrying on his person a large sum of money which he freely exhibited. This money he always carried in a dirty brown wallet with two compartments, and when the body was discovered the wallet and money were missing. He was last seen alive at 7.40 p.m. on the 3rd instant, and investigations show that after killing his victim the murderer locked the door of the hut, and removed the key, which was found on the morning of the 6th instant on the Picton Croquet Ground about a quarter of a mile away.
