Te Awamutu. —Between the 9th and 10th instant, from a billiard-saloon, the property of GEORGE MURRAY BLAIR, a Mills Front O.K. Vendor machine, size about 24 in. by 18 in., weight about 80 lb., identification number stamped on it. It has the appearance of a large cash register, the sides being of wood, back of metal, and front of glass and aluminiumcoloured metal ; value, £65. Identifiable. The machine is operated by first inserting a disk, then a handle on right side is pulled forward, which sets mechanism moving. The glass front shows three revolving reels, each with a series of illustrations of fruits ; above each of the drums are three brakes which can be operated to stop revolutions of the drums, and an arrow points to open part showing the top of the drums. When the drums stop the arrow indicates whether a winning combination has resulted or not.

Te Whaiti. —18th instant, from a motor-car, the property of GEORGE SESSINE, hawker, a khaki tarpaulin, 6 ft. square ; about six yards of pink flannelette ; two pieces of cretonne ; a roll of dark -green double-width serge ; a length of costume material; several dress lengths of various colours ; two pieces of striped crepe ; a linen tablecloth ; a brown cotton cardigan ; four pairs of boys’ trousers ; a pair of dark tweed shorts ; and a boys’ dark-grey serge coat : total value, about £25. Mostly identifiable.

New Plymouth. —On the 21st instant the dwelling of Dr. WALLACE ROBERT WADE was broken into and the following stolen : A chrome-leather key-case, with about six keys attached, “W. R. Wade ” written on inside ; value, 7s. 6d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), who was found in the house, but succeeded in escaping. No description available.

On the night of the 20th instant the dwelling of ROBERT NEVILLE RENAUD was broken into and the following stolen : A black chrome-leather wallet; a cheque for £SO on the Commercial Bank of Australia, Auckland, drawn by Hugh Dawson, payable to R. N. Renaud, and dated 4/8/31 ; a cheque for £6O on the Commercial Bank of Australia, Auckland, drawn by Hugh Dawson, and payable to R. N. Renaud; a cheque for £3 3s. on the National Bank of New Zealand, Ltd., New Plymouth, No. S 51825, in favour of R. N. Renaud, and payable to order ; and about ss. in money: total value, £ll3. Cheques only identifiable. The offender may be identical with the man (name unknown) referred to in preceding paragraph.
