Kaitaia. —Between the 31st May last and 6th ultimo, from the office of PHILLIP GEORGE QUILTER, butcher, a •38 calibre revolver, No. 8249, made by P. Webley and Son, London value, £l. Identifiable.
Wellseord.— Between the 3rd March and 29th May last, from the farm of CHARLES BAYLY, Glorit, 120 Romney cross ewes, two-tooth to full mouth, “ O ” in black branded on centre of back, some are ear-marked with piece out of bottom of left ear, and some with mixed ear-marks ; total value, £72. Identifiable.
Devonport.— Between the 13th and 15th ultimo, from the H.M.S. “ Diomede,” the property of GEOFFREY BLAKE, Rear-Admiral, a Lee Enfield service rifle, No. 191 stamped on bayonet boss, No. C. 23538 stamped on disc on butt, value, £6 18s. Identifiable.
Auckland. 29th April last, from Symonds Street, the property of HAROLD VICTOR DAVIES, 83 Clonburn Road, Green Lane, a 1930 model New Hudson motor-cycle, blackenamelled with chromium-plated benzine-tank, twin fish-tail exhaust-pipes, engine No. 1-940, chassis No. M. 17-474, registration No. 1-513 (1930 value, £BJ). identifiable^ Auckland. —16th May last, from a motor-car, the property of EDWARD JAMES DUFFY, Railway cottage No. 122, Featherston, a gentlemen’s gold Rolex huntingwatch, IS jewels, “ E.J.D.” engraved on case; a gold curb watch-chain ; and a silver match-box with “ E. J.D.” engraved on it.: total ) Auckland. —On the 10th ultimo the dwelling of FRANCES MURIEL McMILLAN, 67 Rosebank Road, Avondale, was broken into and the following stolen : A silver open-face French striking watch (recovered); a round powder-box, porcelain enamel on metal, top ornamented with gold leaves in yellow stones and hand painted flowers, green enamel underneath with stars shining through ; a cone-shaped garnet brooch with white metal mountings and a stone in centre ; a Swiss lever watch, 17 jewels, nickel rim case, with glass at back and front ; a ladies’ gold open-face watch, gold dial, front bezel is ornamented with bunches of grapes and torquoise, the back is ornamented with roses and leaves ; and a gentlemen’s open-face antique watch, inside of case covered with light tortoiseshell with a man sitting beneath a tree with a fishing rod and creel on it: total value, £l2O 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about twenty-three, height about 5 ft. 7 in., native of England, medium build, fair complexion and hair; may have small spot under one eye ; dressed in blue trousers and navy-blue velour coat (no vest). n .
Remuera. —On the 9th March last the dwelling of JOHN DAVID JONES, 2 Vincent Avenue, was broken into and the following stolen: A gramophone, “ His • Master’s Voice ” make, size about 18 in. by 14 in., redwood case; value, £B. Identifiable.
Paeroa. Between the 15th and 16th ultimo the dwelling of ARTHUR EDWARD LIPSHAM, Bradley Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A foreign silver coin, with “ Zar ” and “ 6 ” on one side and a woman’s head on the other side ; a sovereign ; eight £5 notes and five £1 notes. Coin only identifiable.
Masterton. —4th May last, from a motor-car in Dixon Street, the property of the IRISH SPINNING AND WEAVING COMPANY, Customhouse Quay, Wellington, a brown leather suit-case, made by Osborne Manufacturing Company, size 28 in. by 17 in., containing 10 yards of unbleached Irish linen with complainant’s name on it; a number of bedspreads ; serviettes; table-cloths ; and a book of samples with The Irish Spinning and Weaving Company” on it: total value, £37 10s. Identifiable,
Wellington.— l3th May last, from Banks Commercial College, the property of BERESFORD JOSEPH LAVIN, 25 Hay Street, a gentlemen’s single-breasted overcoat, “ Dri Clad ” brand, Raglan style, half-lined with green material, size 5 ; value, £7. Identifiable.
Wellington. —Between the 2nd and 7th April last, from the Defence Headquarters, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Public Works Department) and LEO MILLER, 27 Pirie Street, a set of bits ; a claw-hammer ; four -drivers ; six pairs of plyers ; two three-foot rules ; two chisels ; a footprint vice with “ P.W.D.” stamped on it; an electric lamp, made by “J. C. White ” ; about 25 ft. of extension cord, &c. ; most of the tools have “ L.M.” stamped on them: total value, £5 15s. 4d. Identifiable.
Wellington. —Between the 26th and 28th May last, from the dwelling of RUTH MAY DE VRIES, 220 Queen’s Drive, an 18 ct. gold ring, set with two diamonds in claw setting ; value, £2O. Identifiable.
Dunedin. Between the 26th May last and 11th ultimo, from the dwelling of HELEN SUMMERFIELD, 123 Qpoho Street, a ladies’ gold engagement-ring set with a diamond, narrow band, which is twisted at each side of diamond; value, £l2. Identifiable.
