Dargaville. —3rd February last, that a summons may be served upon him formatting to maintain his illegitimate child, of whom Amelia Evelyn Salt (nee Behersing) is the mother, Walter Janies Donnelly, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, curly red hair. Warkworth. 27th ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Charles Evans, alias Arthur Peters, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. 3 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, brown eyes, scar on upper lip, crooked mouth ; dressed in a dark-grey suit and dark cap. Queen’s Wharf (Auckland).— 26th ultimo, on warrant for assaulting Constable Allan Patterson whilst in the execution of his duty, Man (name unknown), age about forty, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, strong build, dark complexion, dark hair going bald, dark eyes ; dressed in dark dungaree trousers, dark-grey tweed coat and vest, and grey cap. Constable Patterson ejected from a restaurant three men, one of whom assaulted him.

Auckland. 3lst ultimo, that a notice of issue of prohibition order may be served upon him, Samuel Robert Frisk, age fifty-seven, height 5 ft. 9 in., tinsmith, native of England, stout build, fresh complexion, grey hair going bald, blue eyes, mole on right side of nose. Auckland. — On or about the 7th October last, on warrant for theft of £1 55., the property of “ The Worker ” Printery, Trades Hall, Hobson Street, Percy Harry Ellis, age fifty-eight, height 5 ft. 8 in., canvasser, native of New Zealand, stout build, dark complexion, brown hair and eyes, two dots on left wrist. Accused, who was employed as canvasser, received £1 ss. from Cecil Healey and failed to account for it to his employers. There are other charges pending. Huntly. —2Bth February last, on warrant for forgery and uttering, J. Wilson (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-seven, height about 5 ft. 8 in., stout build, fresh complexion, auburn hair, grey eyes ; dressed in a brown tweed suit and brown soft felt hat ; smart appearance. Accused forged the signature “Henry Thompson” to a. cheque for £lO, and uttered it to Charles Bernard Clarke, hotelkeeper, Rangiriri.

Frankton Junction. 27th February last, for theft of a ladies’ [nvicta bicycle (No. 2815, black-enamelled with red lines, Bates tires), value £8 10s., the property of John William Mclntyre, cycle dealer, Girl (name unknown), age about fourteen, short stout build, fair complexion and hair; plausible manner. Accused, who gave the name Carson or Curson, was permitted to take the bicycle away to ascertain if her-mother approved of it, and she has failed to return it. No warrant.

Tauranga.— 2lst ultimo, on warrant for obtaining credit for board and lodgings, value £5, from Gordon Stewart Butler, hotelkeeper, by fraudulently representing that he was Dr. Mac Donnell, William Patrick Brophy, age fifty-two, height sft. 6Jin., labourer, native of Ireland, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, scar on bridge of nose and on right forearm, decayed front teeth ; dressed in a darkgrey suit and dark-fawn felt hat; fond of drink and talkative. Hastings. —l2th November last, on warrant for false pretences, H. Martin, age about thirty-three, height 5 ft. 6 in., canvasser, strong build, dark complexion, brown eyes, full face, clean-shaved ; dressed in a brown suit and brown felt hat with wide brim. Accused obtained 12s. from Alexander Stevenson, builder and contractor, 401 Park Road, by falsely representing that he was employed by the General Publishing Co., Auckland. This firm, he said, was publishing a new journal called the “Modern Homes and Gardens,” the annual subscription being 125., which would also cover the cost of an advertisement regarding complainant’s business. He may be identical with Thomas O’Grady, alias Grady, a canvasser who was employed by the General Publishing Co., Auckland, until that firm ceased business about October last, and who is now said to be canvassing for a firm of opticians. He is also wanted on warrants at Palmerston North and New Plymouth for similar offences. / _ ✓ /

Wanganui. —l4th November last, on warrant for obtaining credit for £6 4s. fid. from Warnock’s Ltd., clothiers, by fraudulently representing that he was employed by A. Duncan, farmer, Kakatahi, F. G. Wilson, age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion, brown hair ; dressed in a blue suit and light felt hat. Accused obtained on credit a blue serge Maclone suit and a blazer.

Lower Hutt. —11th instant, that he may be interviewed regarding the paternity of an illegitimate child, born on the 25th February, 1930, of whom Florrie York, Tangarakau, Stratford, is the mother, James Henry McKeich, age twentysix, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer and tunneller, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes ; scar on right middle finger and on right shin ; right leg has been broken, and when walking turns right foot inwards.
