PROPERTY STOLEN.

Wellsford. Between the Ist January last and 10th ultimo, the property of THOMAS B. RYAN, farmer, Te Haua, about one hundred and fifty Romney cross two-tooth to full-mouth ewes, and about fifty Romney cross two-tooth wethers (ewes are branded with slit in top of left ear, and wethers are branded with slit in top of right ear) ; total value, £250. Identifiable.

Auckland. —11th ultimo, the property of IRENE MAY NICHOLLS, Martin Street, Waiuku, a diamond engagementring set with five stones in a row, one stone missing ; and £6 in money: total value, £22. Ring only identifiable. The property was stolen from complainant’s handbag whilst she was on the premises of the Farmers’ Trading Co.

Auckland. — Between the 20th August and 4th October last, from the Civic Theatre, Queen Street, the property of PRESSLY HEMINGWAY MATTHEWS, service supervisor, Western Electric Co., a dynamic loud - speaker unit, Western Electric brand ; a plate with “ Trade-mark, Western Electric, Registered U.S. Patent Office,” and number on it, with two field terminals and two speech terminals, weight about 22 lb.; value, £22. Identifiable.

Auckland. — October last, from a shop-till, the property of GEORGE STANLEY HAMILTON, confectioner, Ambassador Theatre Buildings, a£l note. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about twenty -eight, height 5 ft. 7 in., baker, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes ; dressed in a grey suit, light-grey felt hat,- and tan shoes ; smart appearance. He may be identical with Allen Edward ROSS, alias Kirby, referred to in Police Gazette, 19JO, page 747, and following paragraph. /( // // n / 1 /a

Auckland. —29th October last, the property of ARTHUR JAMES HALL, waterside worker, corner of Tui Road and Riro Avenue, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold engagement-ring, set with two diamonds and three sapphires in platinum claw setting ; and 7s. 6d. in money : total value, £2O 7s. fid. Ring only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Kirby, age about twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 7 in., baker, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, blue eyes ; dressed in a bluish-grey suit, light-grey felt hat, and tan shoes. He may be identical with Allen Edward ROSS, referred to in preceding paragraph. The suspect stayed one night with complainant, after which the ring, &c» were missed. Sinn* „ Z, Z / // / a . .

On the 25th October last the dwelling of HAROLD BUCKLEY, contractor, 37 Williamson Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A ladies’ gold wristlet watch with expanding wristlet and safety chain attached, gold dial; a gentlemen’s silver hunting - watch, plain case with shield in centre, stem wind, no glass or secondhand ; an 18 ct. gold heavy curb chain with a gold-mounted Coromandel quartz pendant attached ; a ladies’ engagementring, set with five diamonds in claw setting; a gentlemen’s heavy ring, set with a diamond in claw setting ; two razors ; a money-box ; and £8 os. in money : total value, £B4 2s. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. —On the 12th ultimo the dwelling of ISABELLA TAPPER, 7 Maurice Avenue, was broken into and the following stolen : A gold ring, set with a straw-coloured diamond, about the size of a pea, in gipsy setting ; value, £SO. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the 24th and 25th September last, from a magazine at Sandringham, the property of JAMES MUIR STEVENSON, contractor, 11 Woodford Road, 50 lb. of Nobels’ 11 in. plugs of gelignite: value, £5 10s. Not identifiable.

Auckland. 23rd October last, from a motor-car in Federal Street, the property of PETER ARTHUR SENNE, salesman, 16 Hamilton Road, a leather attache-case, containing two order-books, a valuation book, and several catalogues (all books have “P. Senne ”in gold letters on them); value, £l7. Identifiable.

Auckland. — the 13th August and 29th Septem her last the dwelling of CORA EVELYN MOULIN KINTZ 30 Wallace Street, was broken into and the following stolen A 25 dollar gold - piece, with a small gold bracelet chair attached; and £9 in money : total value, £ls. Not iden tifiable.

Ellerslie. Between the Ist and 3rd ultimo, from a box at Orakei, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Public Works Department), an Ericsson telephone, with “ Stromberg, Carlson, and Ericsson, Rochester, New York,” on small plate on front; value, 15s. Identifiable..

Hamilton. Between the 15th and 16th September last, from the dwelling of MAI HODGES, nurse, 31 River Road, a black leather purse, size about 8 in. by 6 in., containing a Post Office Savings-bank book (Hamilton), a motor-driver’s license, a war-pension certificate (all in complainant’s name), a quantity of Official stamps, and 12s. fid. in money • total value, £3. Identifiable except stamps and money.

Hamilton. — January last, from the dwelling of OSCAR CLENDON EMPSON, salesman, 14 Vialou Street, a German automatic pistol, -32 calibre, No. 147164, “ Waffenbrik Mauser A.-G. Oberndorf, A. N. Mauser’s Patent ” ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Tokomaru Bay.— TOKOMARU FARMERS’ CO-OPERA-TIVE SOCIETY’S premises broken into : A portable Columbia gramophone, twenty gramophone records, and a small suitcase, being portion of the property stolen, were found in the Catholic Church grounds. (See Police Gazette, 1930, page 747.)

Hastings. —Between the 22nd and 24th ultimo the premises of MAGNUS MOTORS, LTD., garage - proprietors, Russell Street, were broken into and the following stolen : A cash-box, size about 9 in. by 5 in. by 4 in., containing a cheque for £lO on the National Bank" of New Zealand, Dargaville, No. M 81552, and signed M. Walmsley ; cheque for £1 on the National Bank of New Zealand, Hastings, No. Q 42768, payable— to— Motors. Ltd., and signed A. Douglas Holden ; a cheque for 9s. 9d. on the Bank of New Zealand, Hastings, No. 1410, payable to A. J. Russell, and signed by the Heretaunga Co-operative Dairy Co. ; a cheque for £2 on the Bank of New Zealand, Napier, No. D 274158, payable to A. J. Russell, and signed H. Sellers ; slips of paper representing T-O.IJs. Pahiatua. — On or about the 20th September last the premises of the TARARUA ELECTRIC- BOARD, Main Street, were broken into and the following stolen : 1 lb. of 10-amp. copper fuse wire; a nickel-plated immersion heater, size 71 in. long ; a nickel-plated electric Special iron with black thumb-rest; a nickel-plated electric Standard iron with large red thumb-rest; a Dcleys aluminium electric toaster with fern-leaf on each side ; a nickel-plated electric Ideal kettle, on legs ; a two-cell nickel-plated Bond torch ; a twocell focussing torch ; a three Winchester torch ; four Yale torches ; thirty-three ’Eltax torches ; five three-cell flat flashlight batteries; and £2 10s. in money : total value, £ls 13s. 7d. Not identifiable.

Masterton. —Between the Ist and 2nd ultimo, the property of SIDNEY JOSEPH CARTER, salesman, 21 MichaelDixon Street, a chrome-plated Hercules bicycle, No. K.P.4001, Andrews and Rolph transfer, Brooks saddle, rubber pedals, Radsonne electric - lighting outfit attached; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Masterton. GEORGE PAUL ZACKEY, salesman, A.M.P. Buildings, Wellington, three table - runners, a child’s quilt, a ladies’ dressing-gown, nine fancy aprons, four ladies’ cardigans, three house frocks, nine tooth-brushes, three pullovers, two ladies’ slips, two nightdresses, four pairs of bloomers, two sets of ladies’ silk pyjamas, and nine pairs of silk stockings ; total value, £3l Bs. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Donald Clark Wright, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., salesman, native of Australia, medium build, dark complexion, full face, clean-shaved ; wearing a blue suit and cap. He was employed by complainant to canvass for orders, and disappeared with the samples.

Wellington. 27th September last, the property of JOSEPH EDWARD KNOX, labourer, 53 Cudby Street, Petone, a gentlemen’s black - enamelled Monarch bicycle, No. G.N-.264, Farmers’ Trading Co., Auckland, transfers, upturned reversible handles, Under Drelastic saddle, Dunlop tires, rat-trap pedals, carrier on reap • value, £7. Identifiable except money and cash-box.

Wellington. —Between the Island 2nd ultimo the dwelling of CECIL WILLIAM RICKARD, company director, 91 Moxham Avenue, was broken into and the following stolen : A leather attache-case, size 17 in. by 12 in., two nickel locks, may have pink lining; an electric Hot - point toaster; a gentlemen’s dressing-gown, Jaeger brand, with fawn check lining ; a ladies’ silk dressing-gown, half-lined with woollen material, large button and loop in front: total value, £l2. Identifiable.

Wellington. 6th October last, from a garage at 141 Adelaide Road, the property of CHARLES ROBERT LANGDON, garage-proprietor, a blue serge coat with mothholes under collar ; a gentlemen’s silver open-face English lever watch, -wind, Roman figures, “ Selfe ” and “ Greenwich ”on dial; and a plain curb silver watch-chain with bar in centre ; total value, £2 17s. 6d. Identifiable,

Wellington. GEORGE TIERNEY, labourer, 119 The Ridgeway, a gentlemen’s English lever hunting silver watch ; a gold chain with links of hearts and sheaves alternately, about 12 in. long ; and a war medal with “ George Thomas Tierney ” engraved on it: total value, £2O. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Materia Hauiti, alias Ettie Haywood, referred to in Police Gazette, 1930, page 787. She has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted. The complainant was drinking with suspect, whom he thinks stole his property.

Greymouth. Between the 24th and 30th September last, in-transit between Wellington and Greymouth per s.s. “ Kamona,” the property of 0. SMITH, LTD., drapers, sixteen boys’ canoe shirts, three gentlemen’s fuji shirts, a pair of gentlemen’s underpants, forty Pyramid handkerchiefs, three ladies’ blouse frocks, four scarves, about 15 yards of black morseline silk, 12 yards of silk, 12 yards of red rayon, four ladies’ coats, eleven ladies’ Fuji jumpers, two ladies’ dressinggowns, and eleven ladies’ bed jackets; total value, £43 4s. 9d. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —31st October last, from Oxford Terrace, the property of WILLIAM STEFFENS, schoolboy, 69 Montreal Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled Simplex Special bicycle, No. F.L.3916, 26 in. frame, Eadie Coaster hub, rubber pedals ; value, £ll. Identifiable.

Invercargill. —Between the, 12th and 21st October last, from 233 Sprey Street, the property of MARY BREWER, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring, set with five diamonds in a row, fitted in clasp ; and a ladies’ diamond ring, with a square green stone in centre with chip broken off • total value, £4O. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Sydney Symon Biackie, age seventeen, height 5 ft. 5| in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair hair and complexion, blue .eyes.
