Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Ivy Smith, age thirty - eight, height 5 ft. 5 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, good build, fair complexion, fair wavy buster-cut hair; loud voice. The suspect, who was employed by complainant, left without giving notice, and later the property was discovered to be stolen.

Matamata. —Between the 13th and 14th ultimo the garage of WILLIS BROS., motor-agents, Broadway, was broken into and the following stolen : A cash-box containing a cheque for £5 on the Bank of New Zealand, Hamilton, drawn by the New Zealand Dairy Co., Hamilton, in favour of Willis Bros. ; a cheque for £2 12s. on the Bank of New Zealand, Matamata, No. 129, drawn by the Matamata Town Board in favour of Willis Bros. ; £ll 6s. 3d. in money ; and two black two-cell torches : total value, £lB 18s. 3d. Cash-box and cheques only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Two Men (names unknown), wearing dark overcoats and light felt hats.

Te Kuiti. — llth August last, the property of LEONARD GEORGE HARTLEY, baker, Taupiri Street, a blue suit with double-breasted coat, size 4, small darn in left knee of trousers, small burn in left sleeve of coat; a navy-blue overcoat, small patch on waist, belt on back ; a pair of black patent-leather shoes, size 7 ; a brown wallet containing a pocket-book with “ George Hartley ” on it, receipts, and £3 10s. in money : total value, £2l 12s. Suspicion is attached to Allen Harvey (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, fresh complexion, fair hair, large nose ; quiet manner; wearing a navy-blue suit, fawn felt hat, brown boots, blue and gold tie, and gold watch-chain ; good appearance. Suspect was given accommodation on the night of the sth instant, and after he left in the morning the money was missing.
