Auckland . —Between the 30th November last and the 2nd December, for theft and forgery, Charles Beare, age thirtythree, height about 5 ft. 6 in., carpenter, native of England, medium build, dark complexion and hair, dark-brown eyes ; dressed in a light-grey suit, navy-blue pilot cloth overcoat, and brown felt hat. An Auckland Post Office Savings-bank book (No. 475025, showing credit of £45), the property of George Ogles, labourer,. 10 Spring Street, Onehunga, was stolen from his coat-pocket. A withdrawal receipt for £2O was subsequently forged and that amount obtained from the Post Office. Beare, who was staying with complainant, had the opportunity to steal the pass-book, and lie is to be interviewed regarding the offences. No warrant. ,

Auckland. —Inquiries are to be made for a man named Macefield, alias “ Mac,” so that proceedings may be instituted against him for unlawfully procuring, during the year 1925, from Arthur Kennedy Brooking, 21 Collingwood Street, a German automatic pistol, No. 706 D.W.M. Description of Macefield : Age about thirty-four, height about 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of England, strong build, fair hair, blue eyes. (P. 22/520/910.)

Onehunga. driving a motor-car on a footpath may be served upon him, William Henry Keeping, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 10 in., showman, native of Australia, medium build, fresh complexion, black hair, brown eyes ; dressed in a dark-grey suit. He left this Dominion by the s.s. “ Maunganui ” on the 3rd ultimo.

Hastings. —24th ultimo, on warrant for theft of a gentlemen’s bicycle (recovered), value £B, the property of Jack O’Neill, clerk, 702 York Street, R. Williams (name probably fictitious), age about twenty - six, height 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, sallow complexion, thin face; dressed in a brownishgrey suit and felt hat. The bicycle was stolen from Market Street, Hastings, and sold to a second-hand dealer for £2 10s.

Wanganui. 27th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife and two children, William Gwynne, age about fortyeight, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer and chemist, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion,, white hair, light-blue eyes, no upper front teeth, clean-shaved ; dressed in a darkgrey suit, heavy brown overcoat, and brown shoes ; fond of drink and horse-racing. Palmerston North. —28th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for six months in default of paying £74 19s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his three children, Stephen Thomas Eagle, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer and flax-cutter, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion and hair, blue eyes, scar on back of right hand and on right cheek ; dressed in a grey suit and felt hat; plausible manner. Masterton. —29th October last, on warrant for false pretenses, Adrian Lowther, alias Adrian Lowther Rodney, alias Leon Alfred Lowther, alias “ Lord Rodney,” age thirty-two, height 5 ft. 8£ in., labourer and gardener, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, scar on back of neck, over left eye, on left shoulder and upper arm, and on left elbow and forearm. Accused obtained £3 from William Brown, 27 Perry Street, by falsely representing that a remittance of £1,300 awaited his withdrawal at Christchurch. There are other charges pending. Upper Hutt.—On or about 31st December last, on warrant for false pretences, Llewellyn Price, alias Leonard Russell Lewis, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, 'fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes ; large nose; dancing/girl, clasped hands, and “True love ’Von right fbrearn/; star, anchor, two flags, “ Vinco,” tombstone; and left ferearm. /Accused obtained a brown Scotch tweed Jin# with' bluist/ stripes (which he may be wearing), value £9 10s., front Louis Taylor Rowley, tailor, Arareno Road, Trentham, by falsely representing that he owned a farm at Mungaroa.
