Auckland. — 17th or 18th ultimo, from 28 Edwin Street, the property of GEORGE ARTHUR WELLS, a gentlemen’s silver Swiss wrist watch, oblong shape, luminous dial, black leather strap attached; value £3 15s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about sixteen, height about 5 ft., slight build, dark complexion and hair; dressed in a dark-grey coat and shorts, black boots, and stockings with red tops.

Auckland. On the 15th or 16th ultimo, the shop of WILLIAM JOHN WILSON, 108 Union Street, was broken into and an Atlas iron safe, about 24 ft. by 2 ft., some insurance papers, 4s. 6d. in money, and a quantity of cigarettes stolen: total value, £lO. Safe identifiable. J

Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about sixty-five, height about 5 ft. 10 in., hawker, slight build, fresh complexion, grey hair, short white moustache ; wearing a mouse-coloured suit and felt hat.

Auckland . 4th ultimo, from the shop of MERVYN ALFRED MOORE, 2 Hamilton Road, Ponsonby, a gentlemen’s blue-grey worsted sac coat, size 5, two buttons on front, three outside pockets; value, £2 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Keane (name probably fictitious), age about forty, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build; dressed in a brown suit and fawn felt hat.

Auckland. On the 15th or 6th ultimo a locker at Craig’s Quarry was broken into and twelve plugs Nobels gelignite, about ninety-five Nobels No. 6 detonators, and a coil of red fuse stolen, the property of J. J. CRAIG, LTD. y total value, 15s. Not identifiable. /%//

Identification doubtful. Suspicion is attached to Herbert Patter, referred to in Police Gazette, 1925, page 576, and Photographs, 1910, page 26, who has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted. He is also suspected of stealing a Ford motor-rim with Kempshall tire and tube attached from a motor-lorry on the 2nd September last, the property of HILTON KING, Runeiman.

Rotorua. Between the 15th June last and the 15th August, from a hut at Ngapuna, the property of HATO MAE NGAMAHIRAU, Whakarewarewa, a double-barrelled breach-loading shotgun, No. 201970, Henry Pieper, Belgium, maker, stock repaired ; value, £2. Identifiable.

Taumarunui. 4th or sth instant, from a Ford motor-car in a shed in Miriama Street, the property of LESLIE GEORGE COLEMAN, two motor-car rims with tires (one Pathfinder) and tubes attached, a battery, a front seat of a Ford motorcar with black leather upholstery, an electric generator and cut-out, four ignition coils, carburettor and fittings, radiatorcap, &c.; total value, £23 15s. Seat only identifiable. .

Raurimu. —26th October last, from the Chateau Tongariro, the property of the TONGARIRO TOURIST CO., twelve double-size white blankets with three brown and two red stripes on each end, “ Kaiapoi Woollen Co.” on tag sewn thereon ; and twelve double-size sheets : total value, £3O. Blankets identifiable.

Rawer a. —On the 15th October last the dwelling of KEITH LEWIS MAIDSTONE CAWSEY, 99 Victoria Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A 9 ct. gold brooch with small pearls forming an “A” in centre ; a pair of ovalshape sleeve-links with chain connection, may have “ K.C.” engraved on links ; and six wide-end ties, &c. : total value, £4 18s. Identifiable.

Wellington. — 7.30 and 10.30 p.m. on the 7th instant, from near the Speedway Stadium, Kilbirnie, the property of VICTOR COATSWORTH WATSON, a grey and blue 1925 model Douglas motor - bicycle, Reg. No. 15-988, engine No. 85815 value, £25. Identifiable.

Nelson. Between the 9th and 14th September last, from the motor-boat “ Portland,” the property of REGINALD HERBERT JONES, £27 in money ; a Post Office Savingsbank book issued at Hokitika ; and a Starrett’s speedometer, n'-plated, grip on one end and rubber connection on the other end : total value, £29 10s. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to William Henry Pitt, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 8 in., engineer, strong build, fair complexion and hair. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Greymouth. l7th or 18th October last, from a bridge at Nelson Creek, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Railways Department), a one-leg screw-vice, about 80 lb. in weight, stamped “ W.W.” and “ N.Z.R.” : value, £2 10s. Identifiable.

Christchurch. During 1923, from Borthwicks Freezingworks, Belfast, the property of LESLIE EDWARDS, 4 Hawkesbury Avenue, a 7-65 mm. Browning automatic pistol, No. 38680 ; value, £5. Identifiable.
