Pukekoiie. Between the 10th July, 1922, and the 16th ultimo, the property of GEORGE TRESTO PARVIN, farmer, a German automatic pistol, No. 1707, “ D.U.M.07 ” thereon, “ 1915 ”on barrel; value, £5. Identifiable.

Papakura. —Bth instant, the property of DAVID BRUCE HASTIE, Karaka, a bicycle (recovered) ; a gentlemen’s blue serge suit, size 6, cuff-bottoms on trousers; nd a white cotton shirt with black stripes : total value, £l4 10s. Suit identifiable. Suspicion is attached to John Thomas Brown (name probably fictitious), age about twenty, height about 5 ft. 10 in., strong build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair; dressed in a grey coat, dark-grey trousers, and grey cap ; smart appearance ; fond of dancing. Suspect was employed by complainant, and took the articles during his absence.

Eltham. —On the Bth August last the dwelling of GREGOR DUNCAN MacGREGOR, Graham Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A dark-tan leather suitcase, size 24 in. ; a grey crocodile-leather suitcase, about 18 in. by 15 in., fancy lining; two dozen cut-glass tumblers with etched grapes and leaves round top and vertical cuts at base ; six each of J pint and -jjr pint Georgian wine-glasses ; two pint cut-glass crystal goblets ; and a brass cigarette-case ; total value, £l7 11s. Wellington. BROWNSON, Willis Street, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring with cluster of seven diamonds and one diamond on each side in box platinum setting, size N; value, £37. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to an (name unknown), age about thirty -seven, height about 5 ft. 5 in., strong build, dark complexion and hair ; dressed in a navy-blue suit and grey felt hat. Suspect, by means of a trick, obtained the ring. He left with complainant a ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring set with two clusters of seven diamonds, which he stated he bought from complainant two years ago.

Between the 21st September last and the 17th ultimo, from 15 College Street, the property of PETER RENATA, a heavy double 9 ct. gold fetter-and-oval watch chain with oval greenstone pendant about 4 in. in length attached, and a three-cell nickel electric torch ; total value, £ls ss. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Robert Thompson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1923, page 617. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.
