Auckland. —9th ultimo, on warrant for assault causing actual bodily harm, Alfred CoHins (name probably fictitious)', age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes ; dressed in a blue serge suit and grey felt hat. Whilst escorting Mary Agnes Pickles, domestic, 9 Vincent Avenue, Remuera, home from a dance at Newmarket, accused attempted sexual intercourse with her. Auckland. —On or about the 21st December last, for theft of scrap brass and gun-metal (portion recovered), value £lO, the property of Seager Bros., iron foundry, Customs Street West, Peter Baker (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, dark complexion and hair. The property was stolen from the foundry and a portion of it was sold to Alfred Fenn, second-hand dealer, for 13s. 6d., by a man of the description given. No warrant.

Auckland. —4th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for six months in default of paying £94 arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Claude Oswald McCully, age forty -three, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of Australia, dark complexion, grey hair, brown eyes, scar on upper lip, mole on right calf. Auckland. —24th ultimo, for escaping from Rotoroa Inebriates’ Institution, Thomas Hughes, age forty-eight, height 6 ft., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, freckled complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes ; wearing a grey coat and felt hat; slightly stooped. He was committed to the institution at Blenheim on the 22nd ultimo. He left the island in a small brown dinghy, fitted with a pair of very large oars.
