PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland. —9th ultimo, on warrant for assault causing actual bodily harm, Alfred CoHins (name probably fictitious)', age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes ; dressed in a blue serge suit and grey felt hat. Whilst escorting Mary Agnes Pickles, domestic, 9 Vincent Avenue, Remuera, home from a dance at Newmarket, accused attempted sexual intercourse with her. She resisted and screamed, whereupon he violently assaulted her. /#- (o

Auckland. —On or about the 21st December last, for theft of scrap brass and gun-metal (portion recovered), value £lO, the property of Seager Bros., iron foundry, Customs Street West, Peter Baker (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, dark complexion and hair. The property was stolen from the foundry and a portion of it was sold to Alfred Fenn, second-hand dealer, for 13s. 6d., by a man of the description given. No warrant.

Auckland. —4th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for six months in default of paying £94 arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Claude Oswald McCully, age forty -three, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of Australia, dark complexion, grey hair, brown eyes, scar on upper lip, mole on right calf. Auckland. —24th ultimo, for escaping from Rotoroa Inebriates’ Institution, Thomas Hughes, age forty-eight, height 6 ft., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, freckled complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes ; wearing a grey coat and felt hat; slightly stooped. He was committed to the institution at Blenheim on the 22nd ultimo. He left the island in a small brown dinghy, fitted with a pair of very large oars.

Hastings. Bruce Lawrence, theft : The offence was committed on the 14th March, 1928, not “ 1929 ” as shown in the Police Gazette. (See Police Gazette, 1929, page 212.)

Hastings.—lsth ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Isabel Elizabeth Lory, 606 Jervois Street, Hastings, and children, Alfred Lory, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion and hair, straight nose • no upper teeth. Feilding.—4th January last, that a summons for being found on licensed premises during prohibited hours may be served upon him, Frank Flanagan, alias Francis Flanagan, alias O’Connor, age forty-eight, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, grey hair, blue eyes, pug nose, scar on back* of neck and over right eye. Wellington. l4th ultimo, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “lonic,” Warren Mills, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 7 in.„ seaman, native of England, medium build, fair complexion and hair, hazel eyes, clasped hands on left forearm. sy+JuZ,

Wellington.23rd February last, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Doris Ivy Grimes, 30 Pirie Street, and three children, Ernest Frank Grimes, age thirty-four, height 5 ft. 6 in., plasterer, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair, square jaws.

Reeeton. —7th February last, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison for three months in default of paying £B3, arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Charlotte Olsen, and son, Nels Ivan Emil Olsen, age thirty-six, height 5 ft. 10 in., butcher and sawmill hand, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair, brown eyes, mole on right cheek, scars on left fore and middle fingers. Naseby.9th ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, William James Mackey, alias Mack ay, age about forty-five, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, fresh ruddy complexion, brown hair turning grey and going bald, grey moustache ; dressed in a grey check suit, dark-grey hat; fond of drink.
