Auckland. 2Bth ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife and children, George Richard Nicholson, age forty, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion, hair, and eyes ; usually dressed in a blue or grey suit. Auckland. 7th ultimo, for indecent exposure, Man (name unknown), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 9 in., medium build, dark complexion, brown hair ; dressed in &, light coat and grey felt hat; shabby appearance. About 4.30 p.m. on the above date accused indecently exposed himself in Richmond Road within the view of Lillian Lois May Perry, 113 Customhouse Street, Gisborne. No warrant.

Auckland. —7th ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Algernon James Body, age fifty-eight, height 5 ft. 7 in.; insurance agent, native of England, stout build, fresh complexion, grey hair, blue eyes, small cyst at corner of right eye ; usually well dressed in a light-grey suit. Auckland. 22nd ultima, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Charles Kemble Poole, age forty-one, height 5 ft.-11 in., labourer and seaman, native of England, strong build, fresh complexion, auburn hair going bald, brown eyes, dragon and snake on right forearm; usually dressed in a grey suit and grey felt hat. Auckland. 3lst ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for ten days in default of paying £5 arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his child, Luke Francis Bell, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, ruddy complexion, curly auburn hair, brown eyes, scar on left hand ; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit. Mercer. 6th ultimo, for breaking and entering the dwelling of William Matthew George Stevenson and stealing therefrom a bicycle (recovered), 3s. 6d. in money, a pair of black sandshoes with rubber soles, and a pair of grey striped dungaree trousers ; total value, £lO 13s. 6d., Man (name unknown), age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 7 in., thin build, dark-brown hair ; dressed in a dark-grey suit and light cap. Rotorua. 2Bth ultimo, on warrant for theft of an overcoat (recovered), value £8 Bs., the property of Alfred George Hall, Tom McGovern, alias Gordon Watson, age about thirty-two, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, thin build, reddish complexion, dark-brown hair, thin features, cast in left eye ; usually wears dark-grey coat, dark riding-breeches, and grey felt hat; jockey appearance. Accused borrowed the overcoat, and sold it to a second-hand dealer for £l.

Hastings. —2nd instant, on warrants for unlawfully using a motor-car (recovered), value £IOO, the property of George Castleton Lowe, 507 Lyndon Road-(1) Eric Hayden, age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and farm hand, native of New Zealand, medium build, tanned complexion, light-brown hair, dark eyes : and (2)vßobert Turner, age about twenty, height about 5 ft. 6 in., hotel porter and farm hand, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair brushed back; dressed in a light-fawn suit (no hat). They are also suspected of stealing from the Excelsior Hotel two white towels with red stripes, may have “ Excelsior ” branded thereon, value ss.

On or about the 22nd December last, on warrant for theft of a suit-case and clothing (recovered) and a suit-case and contents, value £5, the property of Francis Walter Fahey, John Keenan, alias Delaney, age fifty-seven, height 5 ft. 61 in., labourer, native of Ireland, medium build, fresh complexion, black hair, blue eyes, scar on right cheek and on right calf. Makton. —3rd November last, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Phyllis Edith Whitfield, and three children, George Herbert Whitfield, age about forty, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, black wavy hair turning grey, dark eyes, one knuckle broken, square chin ; usually dressed in a grey suit and grey felt hat; striding gait; smart appearance ; fond of drink.

/^/- T 6/2'f KimbolTo'N. —27th December last, on warrant for false pretences, Jack Aubrey Cecil Rodgers, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 4| in., labourer and motor-driver, native of New Zealand, medium build, tanned complexion, curly fair hair, grey eyes. Accused obtained £2 10s. from Horace William Wood, Cheltenham, by falsely representing that his name was Harry Margett, of Mangere, and that while bathing at Paekakariki his money had been stolen and he required the above amount to enable him to return home. It has been ascertained by the C.R. Branch that he is at present serving a sentence of two months in Australia for having housebreaking implements in his possession. On or about the 30th ultimo, on warrant for theft of £1 ss. 7d., the property of Hubert Edward Robinson, 144 Onepu Road, Gordon Francis McDonald, alias Scambary, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 7 in., butcher, native of Australia, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, mole on left cheek, scar on one eyebrow. Accused was employed by complainant and received the above amount from Leo Albert on terms requiring him to account for same to his employer, which he fraudulently omitted to do. Wellington. —On or about the 21st December last, on warrant for false pretences, C. Barrie Sutcliffe, age about twenty -nine, height about 5 ft. 8 in., salesman and canvasser, fair complexion and hair ; usually dressed in a blue suit with double-breasted coat and bowler hat. Accused obtained £8 9s. 6d. from his employer, Jack Sullings, Dominion Portrait Company, by falsely representing that he had received seventeen orders for portraits and,was entitled to that amount as commission.

Wellington. —26th ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, Herbert Lawrence (name probably fictitious), age about thirtyseven, height about 5 ft. 8 in.,' good build, sallow complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, round face, quiet speech ; usuallv dressed in ' a fight-they tweed suit and light-grey felt myfc. Wellington. 2nd instant, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probationary license, Walter Edgar Cronin, alias Walter Edward Cronin, alias Walter dames Austin Courtney, age forty-three, height oft. 8f in., cook and steward, native of England, dark complexion, hair, and eyes, scar above right eyebrow. Complainant, Barbara Cameron, 101 George Street, New Brighton. He is supposed to be identical with William Edward Ollis, referred to in Police Gazette, 1926, page 488, and Photographs, page 47.

Christchurch. 4th instant, on warrant of commitment to Pararua Prison for one month in default of paying £6 fine and costs for unlawfully using a motor-car, James Alexander McClintock, alias McLintoCk, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, ginger hair, blue eyes. Christchurch. —20th December last, on warrant for theft of a cheque (recovered) for £6 10s., the property of Raymond Stephen Palmer, 194 Cashel Street, M. Foster (name probably fictitious), age about forty, height about 5 ft. 2 in., slim build, dark complexion ; wearing fawn waterproof overcoat and fawn felt hat. Complainant lost the cheque which was subsequently presented at the Bank of Australasia by a woman of the above description who received cash for it.

Timaru. 9th instant, on warrant for failing to provide for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, Clarence Adams, age twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, sallow complexion, dark -brown hair, prominent nose ; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit and grey' felt hat; places ball of foot down first when walking.
