Devoneoet. —29 th or 30th October last, from a launch at King Edward Parade, the property of STANLEY SHEPPARD, 30 Roslyn Terrace, a ship’s compass, No. 48471, type 5/17, E over 2070, painted green, “ H. Hughes and Son, Ltd., London,” and “ Creagh Osborne Patent 1148/15 ” stamped thereon ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Auckland. ultimo, from the Hotel Auckland, Queen Street, the property of PHILLIP GEORGE MARTIN, 87 Mount Eden Road, a dark-brown cane walking-stick, crooked handle, silver-mounted at end, “ P.G.M.” on silver ferrule ; and a gentlemen’s brown felt Borsalino hat, size 6§ or 7 : total value, £4 ss. Auckland. l7th ultimo, from Queen Marv Avenue, Epsom, the property of THOMAS EDEN SADGROVE, 23 Ranfurly Road West, a 1923-24 model Baby Austin motor-car, registration number 15659, engine number 31318, chassis number 1356, red body with black mudguards, black hood, Dominion cord tires on front wheels, Dunlop and Michelin tires on back wheel, spare wheel attached, ; value, £9O. Auckland. On the 6th October last the dwelling of ERNEST EDWARD MARKS, 3 Stuart Street, Ponsonby, was broken into and the following stolen : A ladies’ 18 ct. gold engagement-ring set with five diamonds (centre stone missing) ; a gold keeper-ring with “ Bth November, 1897,” on shield; a ladies’ gold keyless watch, floral engraving and “ L.E., 1906 ” on back, inside portion of back case missing ; a ladies’ rolled-gold expanding wristlet watch, bevelled edges, keyless, with stem wind missing ; a rolled-gold curb bracelet with padlock fastener ; a gold-mounted tiger’s claw ; and an Indian wheat-pattern gold -watch-chain: total value, £27. Identifiable.

Auckland. —31st October last, from the Picture Theatre, Howick, the property of JAMES HENRY GRIFFITHS, £8 iii money. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Robert Martin Fennell, age thirty, height 5 ft. 10 in., salesman, native of Australia, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair going bald, blue eyes. Hamilton. lsth ultimo, from Victoria Street, the property of ALFRED JOHN WRIGHT, Dominion Road, Frankton Junction, a gentlemen’s Farmers’ Union bicycle, No. 235732, upturned handles, no grips, “ A.W.” scratched on saddle, free wheel, Dunlop tire on front wheel, electric lamp attached ; value, £6. Identifiable.

Hamilton. —6th or 7th ultimo, from Marlboro Place, the property of WILLIAM HENRY. TIMMS, Ulster Street, a gentlemen’s black - enamelled free - wheel Raleigh bicycle, straight handles, rubber grips, Michelin tires ; value, £2 10s. Identifiable.

Rotorua. Between the 9th and 23rd ultimo, from the Rotorua Private Hotel, the property of EVELYN FRANCES INGRAM, several towels, branded “ Sasmac ” across corners ; a quantity of cream-and-white striped bath-towels with dark-orange borders and star-shaped figure down centre ; and a quantity of single 'and double bed-sheets, pillow-slips, &c. : total value, £3O. Identification doubtful.

Ohakune. 26th or 27th October last, from Horopito Road, the property of ALEXANDER COWIE, a gentlemen’s blackenamelled Earl bicycle, straight handles, one rubber pedal and one rat-trap pedal repaired with copper wire ; value, £2 10s. Identifiable.

Stratford. lst instant, from the dwelling of NELLIE WHITLOCK, Mountain Road, a brown Marmot-fur coat, pink flowered silk lining, left elbow worn, large celluloid button front, fur button on collar, one inside pocket; and a fawn fox-fur necklet with legs, head,, and tail : total value, £25. Identifiable. Napier.— 2Bth September last, from the Marine Parade, the property of CORNELIUS HICKEY, Bay View, a black leather suit-case, about 34 ft. in length, lock in centre ; a black-and-white striped rug; six shirts, four green ties; a razor and shaving-outfit; and £4 in money, &c. : total value, £lO. Identifiable except money.

Taihape. — October last, from Capill’s Boardinghouse, the property of CHARLES HENRY WEBB, a gentlemen’s gold Rolex wristlet watch, luminous dial, leather wristlet with buckle attached ; value, £4. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. l9th October last, from Coleman Place, the property of W. R. SNELL, 269 Church Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel bicycle, No. .10064, straight handles, black rubber grips, 22 in. frame, Englebert tire on front wheel, Mercure tire on back wheel; value, £5. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. 29th September last, from Cuba Street, the property of L. O. ROWE, 16 Featherston Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Defiance Cooksley bicycle, No. 2882, straight handles, black grips, 22 in. frame, Defiance Cooksley transfer, dent in nickel on head of forks ; value, £B. Levin. 2oth October last, from Oxford Street, the property of MAVIS AUDREY BRAND, Ohau, a ladies’ free-wheel Bowden Tyseley bicycle, black-enamelled with red lines, straight handles, black grips, yellow and black dress-guard ; value, £7 10s. Identifiable.

Levin. 26th. or 27th October last, from a motor-car in the yard of the Manakan Hotel, the property of JAMES BLAIR, Wellington, six Nagateo shirts ; a suit of striped pyjamas ; a grey fancy worsted suit; a pair of black boots, size 8 ; a black bowler hat, size 6f; a fawn felt hat, size 6f, “J. Blair ” perforated on inside band ; a Gotta razor ; and a Twinplex razor-strop : total value, £2O. Identifiable.

Wellington. —24th October last, from the Lambton Railway-station, the property of THOMAS RAYMOND, Royal Hotel, Wanganui, a light-tan leather suit-case, about 2-J ft. in length, two nickel fasteners, white lining with blue stripes ; a dark-brown Schneideman suit, size 7 ; a pair of gentlemen’s dark-brown shoes, size 7 closed fronts ; four white shirts with black stripes, size 16 ; a dozen starched white collars, size 16|- ; a pair of gentlemen’s dark-grey saddletweed trousers ; a German razor with black handle ; and several ties, handkerchiefs, underclothing, &c. : total value, £l7. Suit and shoes identifiable. - ,

Wellington. Between the 28th September last and the 4th October, from the General Post Office, the property of ARCHIE CHARLES SCOTT, 30 Grafton Road, a Post Office Savings-bank book, No. 154227. Identifiable. On the 4th October Scott’s signature was forged to a withdrawal receipt for £l5O, which was paid out by the Department.

Wellington. —Between the 18th and 23rd ultimo the dwelling of ERIC GEORGE MELVIN, 63 Overtoun Terrace, was broken into and the following stolen : A -22 sevenchambered revolver, No. 274813 ; a pair each of grey tweed and blue serge trousers ; a fawn Sheltrain rainproof coat; a Bengal and an S.X. razor ; a gentlemen’s silver expanding wristlet watch, plain cases ; seven large and six small stainless knives ; a pair of hair-clippers ; a square nickel bedroom alarm-clock, screw dial; a three-blade pocket-knife, fawn handle, “ Western Stock Knife ” stamped on one blade ; and a white ivory pendant (monkey with ring through head) : total value, £l6 Bs. Rudd ” in faint gold letters on one side ; a gentlemen’s navy-blue suit with “ Prestons and Sons ” on collar ; and a quantity of underclothing, some branded “ Jaegar.” : total value, £lO. Mostly identifiable.

Wellington. —2nd October last, from the p'erson of ADA EFFIE MORTON, Messines Road, a ladies’ brown leather handbag, envelope shape, raised pattern of leaves and grapes on front, three inside and one outside compartment; £ls in money ; a small red card-case ; a brass cigarette-case set with imitation stones ; a pink hair-comb ; a gilt vanity-case ; and sundry papers : total value, £ls 15s. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 4 in., medium build ; dressed in a navy-blue coat, dark trousers, and cap ; shabby appearance.

Wellington. —3rd instant, from a telephone cabinet on the Ferry Wharf, the property of KATHERINE MORAN THOMSON, 24 Bolton Street, a ladies’ black leather handbag, envelope shape, faded red and gold design on front; a ladies’ gold expanding wristlet watch, “ K.M.T.” on back case ; and £4 10s. in money : total value, £l4 10s. Identifiable except money.

Wellington. l3th ultimo, from the Arcadia Hotel, the property of RUBY NICHOLAS ADAMS, 24 Bolton Street, a ladies’ double-breasted dark-grey overcoat with faint purple stripe, grey buttons, half-lined with vieux-rose-coloured lining, “ Bowler and Shaw ” on tag ; and a cream woollen cardigan jacket, white buttons, cuffs lined with cream silk : total value, £9 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Two Men (names unknown). Description(l) age about twenty-nine, height about 5 ft. 5 in., strong build, fair complexion, high cheek-bones ; dressed in a blue suit and grey cap: and (2) age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build dressed in a brown suit, woollen lumber jacket, and felt hat.

Wellington. lsth ultimo, from 23 Moir Street, the property of JOSEPH MUHLEGGER, 21 Cambridge Terrace, a gold tiepin set with a pearl, safety device on bottom ; value, £5. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Charles Tombs, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 7 in., native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, brown eyes, scar above left eye. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Wellington. 2Bth October last, from the hut of FREDERICK HARCOURT COLES, Rod Rocks, a gentlemen’s goldfilled fancy shape wristlet watch, No. 184592, luminous dial; value, £5. Identifiable.

Kaikoura. Between the 7th and 21st ultimo the dwelling of GILBERT LESLIE SHAND, Blue Duck, was broken into and a gentlemen’s fine worsted suit, light-fawn with red mixture, “ Ballantyne and Co.” on tag, stolen; value, £l4 14s. Identifiable.^eCCL^AGJM^.

Christchurch. • —‘Between the Bth and 26th ultimo the dwelling of THOMAS TONKIN ARMSTRONG, 30 Holmwood Road, was broken into and the following stolen : Two and a half dozen each of dessert-spoons, teaspoons, dinner-forks, and dessert-forks, and a dozen soup-spoons, all branded “ W. & H.5.E.A.1.” or Ashby’s A 1 ” ; a dozen each of stainless dinner-knives and dessert-knives, branded “ Wheatsheaf, Sheffield ” ; and several bottles of wine, &c. : total value, £33 6s. 6d.
