Wanganui.— Henry William Charles McKay, alias Beaumont, false pretences : It has been ascertained by the Hastings police that accused stayed from the 26th to the 30th ultimo at the Carlton Club Hotel, Hastings. The stolen binoculars referred to in Police Gazette,JL 928, page 702, were given by him to the licensee of the hotel, and he left behind, a blue-nap double - breasted overcoat with half - belt and a mounted Kruger sovereign. He was dressed in blue trousers' and double-breasted blue coat- Ivith brass buttons, and represented himself to be Engineer-Lieutenant Kelsey.
