Kaikohe. —On or about the 10th March last, from the hut of PETAR GABRICH, an 18 ct. gold engagement-ring set with a cluster of five diamonds and five opals ; value, £l2 10s. Identifiable.

Mount Eden.— On or about the 3rd July last, from 27 Victoria Avenue, the property of ELIZABETH FRASER, a pair of earrings with sapphire quartz drops in platinum setting, silver chains, brilliants round quartz and cluster near hooks ; value, £2 10s. - Identifiable.

Auckland. On the 23rd ultimo the premises of the NEW ZEALAND DRY CLEANING CO., 1 Howe Street, were broken into and the following stolen therefrom : A small brass ring set with a blue stone, a heavy gold band ring with Masonic emblem thereon, a gold wedding-ring (cut through with a file), and £2 6s. in money ; total value, £3 6s. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. 2oth June last, from 20 Graham Street, Freeman’s Bay, the property of ANNA ISABELL TIERNEY, a ladies’ gold wristlet watch, Roman numerals, black hands, gold expanding bracelet attached ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Suspicion is attached to John James Madden, age seventeen, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair, scar on upper lip ; dressed in a dark suit and canoe shirt. Wellington. 9th ultimo, from Manners Street, the property of FRANK ALBERT' DOELL, 336 The Terrace, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Couchman bicycle, No. 1924, upturned handles, rubber grips, Couchman transfers ; value, £3 10s. Identifiable.

Picton. — the 4th July and the 21st August last, from a launch at the wharf, the property of MERVYN KENNY, a six-volt three-cell Pete Radford battery, one cell broken; about twenty-two fathoms 31 in. manilla rope ; a brown leather brief-bag ; and several box spanners, cylinder packing, oil, &c. : total value, £2l 16s. Battery only identifiable.

Blenheim. On the 28th or 29th ultimo the premises of WARD, TYLER, AND CO., Charles Street, were broken into and the following stolen therefrom : A cash-box, about £7 in money, an order on Dalgety and Co. for £8 drawn by W. G. Rudd, four cheques on the Bank of New South Wales dated 28th August, 1928, as follows : No. 750571 for £2l 19s. 7d., No. 750572 for £75, No. 750573 for £l3 7s. 9d., and No. 750574 for £lO, all stamped “ For and on behalf of Ward, Tyler, and C 0.,” and signed “W. G. Holdaway.” Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to Tasman William Wilson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1921, page 450, and Photographs, 1917, page 42, who is at present in gaol and has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted. He is also suspected of breaking and entering the shop of NOEL PRIDDLE, Market Street, on the night of the 24th ultimo and stealing therefrom the sum of £42 in money. Not identifiable.

Christchurch. 9th July last, from Manchester Street, the property of GEORGE D. GRIFFITHS, 38 Mayfield Avenue, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel bicycle, No. 43509 e, upturned handles, rubber grips, Hobday’s transfer, Dunlop Railroad tires ; value, £5. Identifiable.
