PROPERTY STOLEN.

Kaikohe. —On or about the 10th March last, from the hut of PETAR GABRICH, an 18 ct. gold engagement-ring set with a cluster of five diamonds and five opals ; value, £l2 10s. Identifiable.

Mount Eden.— On or about the 3rd July last, from 27 Victoria Avenue, the property of ELIZABETH FRASER, a pair of earrings with sapphire quartz drops in platinum setting, silver chains, brilliants round quartz and cluster near hooks ; value, £2 10s. - Identifiable.

Auckland. On the 23rd ultimo the premises of the NEW ZEALAND DRY CLEANING CO., 1 Howe Street, were broken into and the following stolen therefrom : A small brass ring set with a blue stone, a heavy gold band ring with Masonic emblem thereon, a gold wedding-ring (cut through with a file), and £2 6s. in money ; total value, £3 6s. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. 2oth June last, from 20 Graham Street, Freeman’s Bay, the property of ANNA ISABELL TIERNEY, a ladies’ gold wristlet watch, Roman numerals, black hands, gold expanding bracelet attached ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Auckland. On the 29th July last the dwelling of JOSEPH CRAIG, Harding Avenue, was broken into and the following stolen therefrom : An 18 ct. gold ring with an opal in claw setting, and a navy-blue serge coat and vest, size 3-1, “ H.B. Clothing Co.” on tag ; total value, £7. Identification doubtful.

Papatoetoe. —l4th or 15th July last, from the dwelling of THOMAS PREECE, Kolmar Road, a brown leather wallet, two Bank of Australasia £5 notes, and a cheque for Bs. 9d. drawn by the Farmers’ Trading Company, Auckland, in favour of T. Preece. Identifiable except money. '

Hamilton. — or 22nd ultimo, from Queen’s Avenue, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Post and Telegraph Department), a tool-box containing an Auto testing set, four augers and bits, a ratchet-brace, a first-aid outfit, two buffle-grips, two hammers, a mallet, a 2 ft. steel rule, two soldering-irons, a tomahawk, a tool-kit, an oilskin coat, and chisels, drills, pliers, spanners, &c., all stamped with an arrow and “P. & T.” ; total value, £ll. Identifiable.

Hamilton. 2Bth ultimo, from the Bella .Vista Hotel, the property of MARJORY DORIS HOOPER, an 18 ct. gold split-shank ring with an oval-shape opal surrounded with diamonds in platinum setting ; value, £27 10s. . Identifiable.

Hamilton. —On the night of the 6th instant the premises of GEORGE SPENCER ANCHOR, Victoria Street, were broken into and a four-valve wireless set stolen therefrom, with two Marconi screen-grid valves, a Phillips valve, and a Mullard valve, parts fitted into three antique copper boxes, front -plate and cabinet missing ; value, £3O. Identifiable.

Napier. l6th June last, from Greenmeadows, the property of PATRICK ORMOND, Greenmeadows, a gentlemen’s free-wheel bicycle, -enamelled with red showing underneath, flat handles, no brakes, rubber pedals ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Wanganui. —3oth ultimo, from 3 Parsons Street, the property of RICHARD EDWARD JACKSON, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled bicycle, No. 180, upturned handles, red rubber grips, 22 in. frame, Michelin tire on front wheel; value, £3. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to John James Madden, age seventeen, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair, scar on upper lip ; dressed in a dark suit and canoe shirt. He has absconded from licensed service at Whenuakura. (See Police Gazette, 1927, page 277.) *h/(0

Lower Hutt. —loth June last, from outside the Bellevue Hotel, the property of ROBERT HECTOR McDONALD, Wainui Avenue, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel B.S.A. bicycle, No. 9819 ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Petone. — 30th July last, from Jackson Street, the property of JOHN BROWN, 39 Tama Street, Lower Hutt, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel B.S.A. bicycle, downturned handles, no grips, “ A. G. Toohey, Lower Hutt,” on transfer, rubber pedals ; value, £7. Identifiable.

Wellington. 9th ultimo, from Manners Street, the property of FRANK ALBERT' DOELL, 336 The Terrace, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Couchman bicycle, No. 1924, upturned handles, rubber grips, Couchman transfers ; value, £3 10s. Identifiable.

Picton. — the 4th July and the 21st August last, from a launch at the wharf, the property of MERVYN KENNY, a six-volt three-cell Pete Radford battery, one cell broken; about twenty-two fathoms 31 in. manilla rope ; a brown leather brief-bag ; and several box spanners, cylinder packing, oil, &c. : total value, £2l 16s. Battery only identifiable.

Blenheim. On the 28th or 29th ultimo the premises of WARD, TYLER, AND CO., Charles Street, were broken into and the following stolen therefrom : A cash-box, about £7 in money, an order on Dalgety and Co. for £8 drawn by W. G. Rudd, four cheques on the Bank of New South Wales dated 28th August, 1928, as follows : No. 750571 for £2l 19s. 7d., No. 750572 for £75, No. 750573 for £l3 7s. 9d., and No. 750574 for £lO, all stamped “ For and on behalf of Ward, Tyler, and C 0.,” and signed “W. G. Holdaway.” Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to Tasman William Wilson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1921, page 450, and Photographs, 1917, page 42, who is at present in gaol and has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted. He is also suspected of breaking and entering the shop of NOEL PRIDDLE, Market Street, on the night of the 24th ultimo and stealing therefrom the sum of £42 in money. Not identifiable.

Christchurch. 9th July last, from Manchester Street, the property of GEORGE D. GRIFFITHS, 38 Mayfield Avenue, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel bicycle, No. 43509 e, upturned handles, rubber grips, Hobday’s transfer, Dunlop Railroad tires ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —23rd June last, from Lancaster Park, the property of ARTHUR CHRISTOPHER HANDS, 266 Oxford Terrace, a gentlemen’s dark-blue enamelled Bell bicycle, No. .4948, outrigger handles, B. 17 racing -saddle, Bell transfer ; value, £6. Identifiable.

Christchurch. 6th July last, from Lichfield Street, the property of COLIN ALEXANDER CANDLISH, 76 Osborne Street, Linwood, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Challenge bicycle, No. 7253, flat handles, Casbolt transfer, Hutchinson tires ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Christchurch. 2Bth July last, from Lancaster Park, the property' of ERNEST ALFRED COLLETT, 9 Scott Street, Sydenham, a gentlemen’s fixed-wheel Carbine bicycle, No. 1649, red-enamelled with nickel facings, black handles, racing saddle, Michelin tires: value, £l2 JOs. Identifiable.

Christchurch. Bth ultimo, front Sydenham Park, the property of CLARENCE WILFRED AYRES, 92 Durham Street, Sydenham, a gentlemen’s Unique bicycle, No. 2906, Englebert tires ; value, £l2 10s. Identifiable.

Christchurch. — July last, from the Post-office bicyclestand, the property of JAMES LAWRENCE TALBOT, 75 Barbour Street, Linwood, a gentlemen’s fixed-wheel Rover bicycle, No. Z 22251, black-enamelled with brown lines, Rover transfer, Dunlop ■ cord tires, Lucifer Swiss electric lamp attached ; value, £l3 10s. Identifiable.'
