The following extract from the Fiji Royal Gazette No. 45, dated 17th August, 1928, declaring New Zealand to be a reciprocating State for the purposes of the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Ordinance, 1922 (Fiji), is published for general information. F. J. Rolleston, Minister of Justice.

PROCLAMATION. In the name of His Majesty George the Fifth by the Grace of God of Great Britain, Ireland, and the British Dominions beyond the Seas, King,. Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India. By His Excellency Sir Eyre Hutson, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Colony of Fiji. [l.s.] EYRE HUTSON, Governor. Whereas by section eleven of the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Ordinance, 1922, it is provided

that where the Governor is satisfied that reciprocal provisions have been made by the Legislature of any British possession or any territory under His Majesty’s protection for the enforcement within such possession or territory of maintenance orders made by Courts of Fiji, the Governor may by Proclamation extend the said Ordinance to maintenance orders made by Courts within such possession or territory, and thereupon the said Ordinance shall apply to such maintenance orders as if they had been made in England or Ireland : And whereas the Governor is satisfied that such reciprocal provisions have been made by the Legislature of the Dominion of New Zealand : Now, therefore, I, by virtue of the powers and authority in me vested, do hereby proclaim that the said Ordinance shall be and hereby is extended to maintenance orders made by the Courts within the Dominion of New Zealand, and that the said Ordinance shall and does apply to maintenance orders as if they had been made in England or Ireland. Whereof let all men take notice and govern themselves accordingly. The following extract from the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette No. 86, dated 16th August, 1928, declaring New Zealand to be a reciprocating State for the purposes of the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Ordinance, 1927 (Territory for the Seat of Government of the Commonwealth of Australia), is published for general information. F. J. Rolleston, Minister of Justice. THE TERRITORY FOR THE SEAT OF GOVERNMENT. PROCLAMATION. By His Excellency the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia. Commonwealth of Australia— wit, Stonehaven, GovernorGeneral. Whereas it is provided by the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Ordinance, 1927, of the Territory for the Seat of Government, that where the Governor-General is satisfied that reciprocal provisions have been made by the Legislature or other competent authority of any part of His Majesty’s Dominions outside England and Ireland for the enforcement within that part of maintenance orders made by Courts within the Territory, the Governor-General may, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, declare that part to be a reciprocating State for the purposes of that Ordinance : And whereas the Governor-General is satisfied that reciprocal provisions have been made by the Legislature of the Dominion of New Zealand for the enforcement within the said Dominion of maintenance orders made by Courts within the Territory : Now, therefore, I, John Lawrence, Baron Stonehaven, the Governor-General aforesaid, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby declare the Dominion of New Zealand to be a reciprocating State for the purposes of the said Ordinance.
