PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland. —On the 15th May last a warrant was issued for the arrest of each of the following Chinese for remaining in New Zealand beyond the period for which a temporary permit was granted : Gin Him, age thirty ; Chung DO-LOW,) age thirty-four ; Wong Dwin, /age forty'; and Ah Neen, age forty-two. Auckland. — 10th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £43 2s. 6d. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife and child, John Procter, age forty-five, height 5 ft. 9-L in., lineman, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, scar over right eye. skull fractured, dent in forehead, right little finger missing. Auckland. 3lst May last, on warrant for theft of clothing, &c., value £l4, the property of Thomas Butler, Arthur Allan Lewer, alias Bert McDonald, age twenty, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of Scotland, medium build, fair complexion and hair, brown eyes ; dagger on left forearm. On the 4th ultimo he was convicted on the above charge and ordered to come up for sentence within six months. He lias failed to comply with the conditions of his release, and he is to be brought before the Court for sentence. (See Police Gazette, 1928, page 511.) . „ . « ,

Auckland. 4th ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), James Stanley Jansen, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 10 in., motor-driver, native of Australia, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, scar on upper lip. Auckland. 2nd instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his child, Patrick Doyle, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 9 in., carpenter, native of Australia, slight build, fair complexion, dark-grey hair, blue eyes. Auckland.— ultimo, on warrant for theft of a banjomandoline (recovered), value £4 10s., the property of William Pirks, labourer, . 60 Hinemoa Avenue, Devonport, Herbert Desion, age about twenty-six, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, fair complexion and hair, sharp features ; dressed in grey trousers, navy-blue coat, tan shoes, gabardine overcoat, and grey felt hat with coloured band. The instrument was stolen from 13 Vincent Street and pawned for £l.

Auckland. — 9th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Frederick Them sen, age about forty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., steelworker, native of England, strong build, round face, clean-shaved. Arrears to 29th June last, £72.

Ohttba. —28th June last, that a copy of a minute of order in respect to the maintenance: of his illegitimate -child, of whom Myfannwry Sophia Thompson, domestic, is the mother, may be served upon him, Alick Fulcher, age about twentyfour, height 5 ft. 9 in., butcher and drover, native of New Zealand, thin build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue or grey eyes; slightly stooped; slouching? gait; dressed in a grey suit and cap. , i-b '

Stratford. —17th May last, on warrant for false pretences, W. J. Gillies, age about thirty-two, height about 6 ft., clerk, good build, dark complexion and hair ; dressed in a grey tweed suit and grey felt hat, and wears gold-rimmed pincenez ; smart appearance. Accused obtained £3 from Henry Bodley, hotelkeeper, by means of a valueless cheque for £5, which he tendered in payment for his board and lodging. He may be identical with J. E. Hartley/ referred to in Police Gazette, 1928, page 549.^

■ Palmerston North. —7th instant, that he may : be interviewed regarding the maintenance of his illegitimate child, Patrick Joseph Hunt, in the care of the Education Department, Joseph LahOOtl, age nineteen, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, sallow complexion, curly dark hair, brown eyes, long nose, large mouth ; dressed in a navy-blue suit, grey heavy tweed overcoat, and light cap.

Wellington.—6th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the. terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Flora Rebecca Nimmo, Robert Anselm Nimmo, age fifty-one, : height 5 ft. 10 in., farmer, native of New Zealand strong build, dark complexion, black hair, hazel eyes, scars on tip of right ring-finger, scar on left instep. Wellington. — Bth instant, for failing to comply with the conditions of his . release upon probationary license, George Slavich Milan, alias Melan, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 9f in. labourer, native of Servia, dark complexion, black hair, grey eyes ; three scars on forehead, two scars on right elbow, mole on left thigh, scar on. left wrist. Christchurch. —On or about the. 9th ultimo, on warrant for theft of £986, the property , of Leonard Percival Voice, fellmonger, 11 Everard Street, John Black Batchelor, age about thirty-five, height. 5 ft. 5 in., barrister and solicitor, native of Scotland, medium build, fresh complexion, black hair, brown eyes, small head and face, sharp features ; usually dressed in a navy-blue or grey suit and grey felt hat. Complainant gave accused, who was acting as his solicitor, £986 with instructions to pay it to A. S. Nicholls, solicitor, Christchurch. He failed to pay over the money, and he may endeavour to leave this Dominion. There are other charges pending.
