PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland. — May last, on warrant for remaining in New Zealand beyond the period for which a temporary permit was granted, Llim Sow Ting, age thirty-four, native of China. , , f.

Auckland . — 3rd ultimo, for obscene exposure, Man (name unknown), age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 11 in., slight build, clean-shaved ; wearing grey coat and cap ; and was riding a gentlemen’s bicycle with upturned handles and generator on left side of front wheel. At Mount Roskill accused committed the offence within the view of Wilfred Ernest Cromwell, age twelve. No warrant.

Parnell. 23rd May last, for false pretences, H. V. Smith (name probably fictitious), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, sallow complexion, dark hair, blue eyes ; dressed in a dark suit, grey sweater, and fawn soft felt hat. Accused obtained goods, value 7s. 8-|d. from Edward Pakenham, grocer, 1 Islington Avenue, Mount Eden, by falsely representing that he was employed by J. T. Julian, Ltd., contractors. No warrant.

Cambridge. —l7th instant, that he may be warned to comply with the conditions of his release upon probationary license, William Brewer, alias Bruce, alias Youngman, age forty-four, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, curly dark hair, grey eyes, scar on left fore and middle fingers, on left wrist and leg, and on back of head. New Plymouth. l4th instant, on warrant for failing to comply wth the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Emma Ford, Clarence Ford, age forty, height 5 ft. 8 in., motor salesman, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair, lump behind one ear, mole on right cheek. Napier. —loth instant, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for twenty-one days in default of paying £6 fine and costs for negligently driving a motor-lorry, John O’Donnell, age about twenty-nine, height about 5 ft. 10 in., lorry-driver, medium build, fair complexion and hair ; usually dressed in a dark-grey suit and grey felt hat; slightly stooped. Taihape. —3rd instant, on warrant for false pretences, Joseph Craig, alias Leonard George Brassell, alias L. R. Johnstone, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. in., salesman and rabbiter, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, scar on left wrist, left middle

and little fingers contracted ; usually dressed in a blue check suit and brown felt hat. Accused obtained £lO from Robert Kirkland, rabbiter, Waiouru, by falsely representing that he had secured the rabbiting rights on Mr. Cullinane’s property at Waiouru. He is also suspected of stealing a registered letter and forging a Post Office Savings-bank withdrawal-slip ; by altering it from £8 to £BO. Palmerston North. — 15th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for one month in default of paying £l3 10s. fine and costs for being in possession of opium, Ah Kum, age seventy-four, height 5 ft. 6 in., gardener, native of China, slight build, sallow complexion, grey hair going bald, brown eyes, stooped, walks slowly, and has a habit of clearing his throat frequently. Wellington. — l7th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, Barry Edward Bradley, 38 Kent Terrace, Albert or Albert Edward Carpenter, age about thirtysix, height 5 ft. 10 in. slight build, fresh complexion, fair hair, grey eyes. Wellington. —26th ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Stephen Ronald Elsby, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 4 in., steward, native of Scotland, medium build, pale complexion, black hair, brown eyes. Wellington. —lßth instant, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 15s. fine and costs for unlawfully procuring possession of a rifle, Sydney Charles Ross, alias Rossbetter, age -seven, height 5 ft. 6-f in., labourer, native of New Zealand, dark complexion and hair, brown eyes ; tombstone and star, &c., of left forearm ; heart, rose, and “ Doris ” on right forearm ; scar on right thumb and on upper lip. Diamond Dust tea, value £2 45., the property of Frank Hamilton Roach, storekeeper, 247 Willis Street, John Brown, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 4 in., canvasser, slight build, fair hair, left fore and middle fingers joined together, and left ring and little fingers missing ; dressed in a grey suit and felt hat ; slouching gait. Accused, who was employed by complainant, was given the above-mentioned goods to sell on commission, and he has disappeared. No warrant.

Dunedin. —14th instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife Margaret Vincent, Victoria Street, Mosgiel, Eric Norman Vincent, age twenty-seven, height about 6 ft., insurance canvasser, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes, scar over right eye. Dunedin. — lst April last, that a summons for being unlawfully in possession of -skins may be served upon him, Henry Warren, age forty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., farmer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion and hair ; usually dressed in a dark suit and felt hat.
