Taumarunui. —On the Bth instant the premises of ROSS AND HARTNETT, Huia Street, were broken into, and the following stolen from the safe, which was opened by means of explosives: About £5 in money; a cheque for 11s., No. A 329874, drawn on the Bank- of Australasia, Taumarunui, by J. Brown in favour of Ross and Hartnett or the Taumarunui Sash and Door Factory; a cheque for £35 Is., ' No. C over 2 70817, drawn on the Bank of Australasia, Taumarunui by R. H. Ross and C. P. Hartnett in favour of the Public Trustee ; and a Taumarunui Borough Council private cheque for £315 7s. on the Bank of New Zealand, Taumarunui, signed by Webb, Bowles, and Ward infavour of Ross and Hartnett.
