+ Auckland.- —2Bth February last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his two children, George Edward Hicks Sear!, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes, scar on right temple; dressed in a grey suit and felt hat. Arrears to 31st January last, £lO Is. (See Police Gazette. 1927, page 623.)

Auckland.— John Michael Scannell, failing to maintain his wife : It has been ascertained by the Auckland police that he is in Sydney (Australia). The complainant is now deceased, and his arrest is not desired beyond this Dominion. (See Police Gazette, 1925, page 396.)

Auckland. 2oth ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Cyril Geary, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. Auckland. —29th February last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £8 ss. costs for stowing away on the s.s. “Niagara,” John Victor McKenzie, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 2 in., basketmaker, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, dark hair, blue eyes, scar on abdomen. Auckland. — January last, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Evelyn Eulalie Crosby, John James Richard Crosby, age thirty-eight, height sft 8 in., secretary, native of New Zealand, strong build, sallow complexion, sandy hair, hazel eyes, several broken gold-filled teeth.

Auckland. —l6th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Jane Annie O’Brien, 16 Farrar Street, Richmond Road, Benjamin O’Brien, age forty-eight, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eves, scar on forehead.

Paeroa. —On or about Bth October last, for false pretences, Robert Stewart Wylie, alias Bert Wylie, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 10| in., traveller, native of England, strong" build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, prominent ears, scar on back of head, full face ; usually dressed in a dark-grey suit and grey felt hat; plausible manner. Accused obtained £5 15s. 6d. from Frederick Charles Blyth, bookseller, Belmont Road, by means of a valueless cheque for that amount on the the Bank of New Zealand, Auckland, signed A. Butler. Te Kxtiti. 7th February last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Mary Ellen Day, Thomas Day,' age sixty-three, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of England, medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue-grey eyes, right forefinger deformed, snake round sword on left forearm, star on hack of left hand, speaks quickly with Cockney accent; usually dressed in a dark tweed suit and cap. Arrears to Ist February last, £240.

Napier. — instant, that he may be compelled to pay £56 12s. 6d. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his child, Hanora Sims, in the care of the Education Department, Thomas Henry Sims, age about fifty, height about 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, florid complexion, fair hair going bald. Hastings. 29th ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, 6. McWhirter, age about thirty, height about sft 8 in., supposed butcher, medium build, dark complexion, fuzzy dark hair ; dressed in a blue suit, no hat. Accused obtained £4 7s. 6d. from Francis William Fitzpatrick, billiard-room proprietor, by means of a valueless cheque for £4 10s., signed Albert Fraser, which he tendered in payment of 2s. 6d. for a game of billiards. The cheque-form, together with a moneybox containing £1 and two pairs of socks, was stolen from the dwelling of William D. Sharpies, farm-manager, Otane. He may be identical with Gerald McWhirter, referred to in Police Gazette, 1927, page 649, and J 928, page 165.

Htjnterville. —On or about the 13th ultimo, on warrant for forgery and uttering, Charles Patrick McAllister, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. I©| in., labourer and shearer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes, scar on left groin and on right ankle ; dressed in a light suit and light felt hat with striped band. Accused, who was given a cheque for £1 10s. by Isaac G. Bartlett, for whom he had been working, altered it to £9 10s., and uttered it to Smith, licensee, Hunterville Hotel. Hastings. lst February last, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for two months in default of paying £4 Bs. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Metta Young, Havelock North, John Young, age about forty-eight, height about 5 ft. 10 in., farmer, labourer, and shearer, native of England, strong build, medium complexion, brown hair, large nose, slightly bow-legged ; usually dressed in a dark tweed suit; a heavy cigarette-smoker.

Wanganui. 4th instant, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), William Moss, alias George Rogers, age eighteen, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair, grey eyes, scar on throat. HiS arrest is desired. He is also suspected of stealing £5, the property of Didcott Mills, painter, 21a Dublin Street, with whom he stayed during February last. Palmerston North. -11th February last, on warrant for theft of a bicycle (recovered),"value £2 10s., the property of Mona Hemingson, housemaid, A. Hsskings (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, fair complexion and hair, clean-shaved ; dressed in a grey suit. The bicycle was stolen from The Square and sold to a dealer for 12s. 6d.,by.a man of the description given.

Pahiatua. —Bth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £2 Bs. fine and costs for damaging police uniform, John Smith, alias Basil Claude Paley, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and cook, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, fair hair, grey eyes, fiat broken nose, scar over one eye and under lower lip ; dressed in fawn suit with double-breasted coat. Wellington. —9th February last, for false pretences, IVian (name unknown), age about thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 10 in., stout build, fair complexion, clean-shaved ; dressed in a blue serge suit and grey felt hat. Accused obtained a 5-50 Crosley five-valve radio set, Philip valves, 16 in, Crosley musicome loudspeaker, 6-volt battery, 41-volt C battery, Philips B battery eliminator, value £42 65., from George Gould Macquarrie, radio-dealer, 95 Willis Street, by means of a forged order purporting to be from Joseph Linklater, M.P. He may be identical with Man (name unknown), who obtained by similar means a saddle from Frederick John Evans, saddler, referred to in Police Gazette, 1928, page 164". No warrant.

Wellington. 26th January last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for seven days in default of paying £2 15s. fine and costs for driving a motor-car at excessive speed, Percy Clareboroiigh Butler, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 7 in., painter, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, smart appearance. He may be identical with Percy Butler, referred to in Police Gazette, 1928, page 39. (See Police Gazette, 1926, page 807, and Photographs, 19213, .page 44.)

Dunedin. —l3th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Gladys May Muir, Simon IVSuir, age forty-eight, height 5 ft. 11 in., journalist, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair going bald, blue eyes, large head, prominent nose ; usually dressed in a dark suit.
