. Mt. Albert. —2nd ultimo, from the New North Road, the property of ALBERT HENRY, 237 Balmoral Road, Edendale, a gentlemen’s free-wheel Monarch Special bicycle, No. H.H. 2399 stamped near gear-wheel, black enamelled with gold lines, upturned handles, black grips (right grip missing), 22 in. frame ; value, £8 10s. Identifiable.

Mt. Eden. —7th ultimo, from a motor-car in Dundonald Street, the property of REGINALD GISBY, 4 Dundonald Street, a wire wheel for a Moon motor-car, painted black, fitted with a Dunlop tire, 32 x 495, No. 33998197 ; and a Firestone tube : total value, £ll 14s. Identifiable.

Ponsonby. —Between the 26th November and the 10th December, 1927, from 40 Arthur Street, the property of FREDERICK DEAN, 2 Clyde Street, a brown leather briefbag ; a white shirt and collar to match ; and a nickel-plated motor-cycle spotlight: total value, £2. Identification doubtful. Suspicion is attached to Jim Fairburn, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 7Jin., motor-garage employee, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion and hair, flat nose, small features, slow speech ; dressed in a navy-blue suit.

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). Between June and December, 1927, from the launch “Jessie Marion,” the property of DINGBY EDWARD CARDALE, 10 Scotia Place, a primus stove ; a large shifting spanner; a small spanner ; a pair of pliers ; a pair of footprints; a screwdriver; a vice, &c. : total value, £5 15s. Mostly identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Herman August Albert Blank, alias Albert Blank, age fifty-five, height 5 ft. 5J in., fisherman, native of Germany, medium build, sallow complexion, brown hair turning grey, brown sunken eyes, short dark moustache ; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit and fawn felt hat; foreign accent. Auckland. —Between the 11th and 22nd ultimo, from 196 Hobson Street, the property of CYRIL MANDEVILLE GUDGEON, 40 King Edward Parade, Devonport, a gladstone bag ; a gentlemen’s black dinner suit with black corded cuffs ; a fine-pleated dress shirt with 15J neck ; a pair of blue trousers with faint white stripe ; a Gilette safety razor; and 500 Army Club cigarettes : total value, £2O 17s. 6d. Identifiable except cigarettes.

Auckland. —loth ultimo, from the Imperial Hotel, the property of DANIEL LYDON, a gentlemen’s open-face silver watch, “ D.L. 27.3.21 ” engraved on outside back case ; and a double rolled-gold curb watch-chain, silver medal-with gold centre attached, “ D. Lydon, May, 1913,” engraved on back : total value, £6. Identifiable.

Auckland. —3lst January last, from a shed at St. Helens Hospital, the property of WILLIAM CHERRY, 386 Queen Street, a watch-chain and pendant (recovered), and a gentlemen’s open gold watch with “ Presented to Staff Sergeant William Cherry for his services in South Africa ” engraved inside back case ; total value, £2O. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to John Hunter (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft,. 9 in., strong build, fresh complexion, dark hair; dressed in a grey suit and soft felt hat. The description is that of a man who sold the chain to a second-hand dealer.

Auckland. —10th ultimo, from a shop in Queen Street, the property of ROBERT DUNIPACE 33 Lloyd Street, a brown pigskin wallet; an Onoto fountain pen with “R.D.” on silver band thereon; and a war pension certificate, No. D. 6242, in name of Robert Qunipace : total value, £1 14s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —31st January last, from a lane in King’s Drive, Parnell, the property of ALEXANDER JAMES RICHARDSON, 46 Grey’s Avenue, a gentlemen’s gold keyless hunting Elgin watch, white dial (chipped), second hand missing, “ J.S.H.” engraved on front case; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Auckland. On the 2nd January last the dwelling of WILLIAM JOHN CARBINES, 99 Gillies Avenue, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : An 18 ct. gold engagement ring with six small diamonds in straight setting, crescent-shape bar across setting with a large diamond and two sapphires set thereon; and £lB 15s. in money: total value, £29 ss. Ring identifiable.

Auckland. —10th ultimo, from the Imperial Hotel, the property of HORACE EDWARD ROBINSON, 91 Glover Road, Hawera, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold hunting Waltham watch, movement number 16335329, repair number 34779, scratched inside back case ; a rolled-gold fob watch-chain with square locket set with a blue stone attached ; a Sheaffer fountain pen ; and a Waterman fountain pen, &c. : total value, £lO 15s. Identifiable except pens.

Auckland. —2oth or 21st January last, from a hut in Vincent Street, the property of TUPARI BIRCH, a 9 ct. gold fetter and oval watch-chain ; value, £3 12s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —29th December last, from the person of WILLIAM ANDREW GILLESPIE, Symonds Street, a gentlemen’s 18 ct. gold hunting watch, “ London Make” on dial, John Gillespie” engraved inside back case; and a 9 ct. gold curb watch-chain, large graduated links, squareshape 9 ct. gold locket attached with anchor engraved thereon : total value, £SO. Identifiable.

Remuera. —Ist or 2nd instant, from the dwelling of ELEANOR AGNES GRAHAM, 2 Westborne Crescent, a ring (recovered) ; a brown leather purse with dome fasteners ; a ladies’ gold dress ring with cluster of diamonds and three rubies in claw setting in centre ; and 10s. in money : total value, £l3. Identifiable except money.

Onehunga.— -Ist or 2nd January last, from the Riverhead Hotel, the property of STEPHEN BOURKE, Exchange Hotel, a gentlemen’s gold hunting Waltham watch, No. 33474, “H. Bourke ” scratched inside back case ; and a gold curb watch-chain, gold-quartz pendant attached with plain edging and engraving at top total value, £l3. Identifiable.

Huntly. —22nd November last, from a camp at Woodleigh, the property of JOHN FRANCIS MALONEY, Ngaruawahia, a dark leather wallet; £3 18s. in money; penny stamps, value, 3s. ; and several blank cheques on the Bank of New Zealand, Auckland, supposed numbers M. 373098 to M. 373104 discoloured with being wet. Cheques identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Morris Wright, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, florid complexion, dark hair, brown eyes. He lias been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Hamilton. —On or about the 14th January last, from Gordonton, the property of WALTER ARCHIBALD McLEOD, a four-year-old brown colt, slightly cracked hoofs ; value, £l2. Identifiable.

Hamilton. —21st or 22nd January last, from the rear of a shop in Victoria Street, the property of FRANK WOOD HALL, Victoria Street, a gentlemen’s blue-enamelled free-wheel Star Special bicycle, straight handles, one grip missing, National saddle ; value, £l2. Baeyertz; a cheque for £23 6s. 5d., drawn on the Bank of New South Wales, New Plymouth, by the Taranaki County Council; a cheque for £4 19s. 3d., drawn on the Bank of Australasia, Eltham, by C. E. J. West; and a cheque for £1 6s. 6d., drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Kaponga, by Anton Hiestand, all cheques payable to W. Clement or W. Clement and Son. Identifiable except money.

Hawera. —22nd ultimo, from the Railway Hotel, the property of JULIA RYAN, an 18 ct. gold engagement-ring with three diamonds in crossover platinum claw setting; value, £2O. Identification doubtful.

Lower Hutt. Between the 28th December last and the 4th January, from Cottle’s Lane, Taita, the property of DAVID HORLOR, a gentlemen’s • black-enamelled B.S.A. bicycle, slightly upturned handles, red rubber grips, old gearlever on top bar, 22 in. frame, Dunlop tires; value, £5. Identifiable.

Lower Hutt. —23rd December last, from the railwaystation, the property of THE PLUNKET SOCIETY, Riddiford Park, a ladies’ black-enamelled free-wheel Premier bicycle, No. 357238, reversible handles, Westbury transfers, round cranks, Dunlop tire on front wheel; value, £7. Identifiable.

Wellington. 22nd January last, from a dressing-shed at Day’s Bay, the property of HELEN ELIZABETH DAVIDSON, Hobson Street, New Plymouth, a ladies’ gold Mido wristlet watch, round bronze dial, gold link wristlet attached with one link repaired ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Wellington. —On the 2nd January last the dwelling of GEORGE WILLIAM BOOTH, 50 Wilson Street, was broken into, and a gentlemen’s gold hunting Waltham watch and £5 15s. in money stolen therefrom. Identification of watch doubtful, money not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, dark complexion and hair, cleanshaved ; well dressed in a blue coat, light-grey trousers, grey hat, and tan boots.

Wellington. 23rd instant, from Palliser Road, the property of THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL AND ENGINEERING CO., 42 Customhouse Quay, a 1926 model five-seater Essex coach motor-car, registration number 70-101, engine number 540629, chassis number 472077, painted brown with blue lines along sides, brown painted artillery wheels ; value, £275. On the 12th January last the dwelling ERIC MICHAEL LYNCH, Pahautanui, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A pair of gold sleeve-links with “ E.M.L.” thereon a gold-mounted Onoto fountain pen with “ E.M.L.” thereon ; an Onoto fountain pen ; an open-face watch, luminous figures; an open-face silver watch, “P. N. Denton ”on dial; a double silver watch-chain ; two white shirts, one with blue and the other with red stripes ; and a razor with black handle : total value, £ll 3s. fid. Mostly identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 9 in. ; dressed in a dark suit and cap, and leather slippers.

Wellington.- 12th ultimo, from a dressing-shed at Lvall Bay, the property of FRANCIS EDWARD KELLY, 139 Onepu Road, a brown leatherette pigskin folding wallet, six compartments ; and £2l in money. Purse only identifiable.

Wellington. —l9th January last, from a motor-car in Mercer Street, the property of G. SKINNER, 6 Thompson Street, Palmerston North, a brown travelling-rug with red stripes, small burnt hole in centre ; a ladies’ navy-blue overcoat with brown fur collar ; a brown feather boa ; and a brown fur necklet: total value, £2O. Westport. —On the 22nd ultimo the dwelling of LILY USHER PASCOE, 108 Russell Street, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A ladies’ gold huntinggold dial, black English figures ; a granny chain with goldmounted cameo locket attached with “L.U.P.” on back; a gold cable bangle ; a plain broad gold bangle ; a pair of pince-nez ; and 15s. in money : total value, £33 ss. Identifiable except money.

Kaiapoi. —Between the 9th and 14th January last, from the dwelling of CAROLINE WINIFRED BARKER, Lees Road, a ladies’ gold keyless wristlet watch, No. 199600, “ C.E., 4/9/15,” and “ Stewart Dawson ’’engraved on back ; an 18 ct. gold engagement-ring with three diamonds in crossover setting ; and a 15 ct. gold dress-ring with sapphire in crossover setting : total value, £32. Christchurch. 3lst October last, from a vacant section in Manchester Street, the property of GEORGE JAMES KEITH ROBERTSON, 144 Hill’s Road, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled fixed-wheel Swift bicycle, No. 475248 and 17154, upturned handles ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —On the 14th or 15th ultimo the shop of SAMUEL WOODS, Church Corner, Upper Riccarton, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : £27 in money ; twenty -1 lb. packets each of Amber Tips tea, Raven tea, and Bell tea; two dozen tins Edmonds’ baking-powder; twelve l lb. tins of Bournville cocoa; and a quantity of tobacco and cigarettes : .total value, £75 10s.
