PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. —Between the 7th and 21st October last, from a store in Commerce Street, the property of UNA D. BOURKE, a dark-tan leather suit-case, “ U.G.” or “ U.D.G.” stamped on lid, two nickel locks, containing a boy’s bluishgrey heather-mixture knitted Cardigan, Burberry raincoat with Raglan sleeves, two pairs knickers, two pairs woven woollen combinations, two pairs black stockings with pinkstriped tops, two pairs tussore-silk ribbed stockings, a Panama hat, a knitted white woollen cap with red border, a white knitted scarf with fringed ends, a pair of brown goloshes (size 11 or 12), two pairs one-piece white and blue striped pyjamas, two white and one blue knitted jerseys, a ladies’ Japanese kimono dressing-gown (red and blue wheel pattern, scarlet lining), a ladies’ grey rubber apron, a pair of ladies’ grey knitted gloves with white gauntlets, a pair of ladies’ blue felt bedroom slippers with picture thereon, and a tortoiseshell comb with handle, &c. ; total value, £2O. Auckland. —17th December last, from a motor-car which was unlawfully taken from the Civic Square and abandoned in Paice Avenue, Edendale, the property of CYRIL HOWARD WHITFORD, 21 Allen Road, Grey Lynn, a ladies’ red rubber raincoat with belt and buckle, brown lining, belt-loops have been lowered ; value, £1 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. l4th ultimo, from the person of WILLIAM HENRY COLLINS, Ohura, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold keyless hunting Lancashire watch, engine-turned cases ; and a double thin gold watch-chain, with polished pebble pendant attached ; total value, £7 ss. Identifiable.

Auckland. Between the 16th and 21st ultimo the dwelling of HENRY MONTAGUE SMYTH, Onehunga, was broken into and the following• stolen therefrom: Twelve Butler brand stainless table-knives ; six tablespoons, six dessert-spoons, nine teaspoons, six large forks, and four small forks, all Mappin and Webb brand, rat-tail style ; three eggspoons, one sauce-ladle, one pickle-fork, two jam-spoons, two

butter-knives, two salt-spoons, four fish knives and forks, and one knife-rest, all E.P.N.S. ; a large Brown wireless loud speaker, painted black ; a Carborundum crystal set with condenser and four terminals, in a varnished wooden box ; a Variometer crystal set, in varnished box; a three-valve amplifier, with transformers and Mullard P.M. valves, in case ; two 45-volt American radio batteries ; two Fullers portable batteries, in celluloid containers ; a pair of Brown -phones ; two Mullard valves ; two Burgess dry - cell batteries ; six tablecloths ; a sixteen-day clock in brown wooden ease with round top, pillars on sides, Roman numerals, strikes hour and half-hour, space for plate under dial; a brown rug with red stripes ; a spade guinea with hole in it; a carved lava bracelet; a plain narrow gold bracelet with greenstone shamrock thereon ; a ladies’ gold ring set with three sapphires and two pearls ; a narrow gold ring with heart-shape amethyst and chain attached ; a gold-chased keeper-ring ; a gold bar brooch set with an amethyst; and a gold safety-pin brooch with “M ” thereon : total value, £SB 11s. Identifiable.

Auckland. 2lst or 22nd ultimo, from the dwelling of ALICE MAIR, Hurstmere Road, Takapuna, a Dresden china nude-boy candlestick for four or five candles ; a figure of a man in Dresden china, about 8 in. in height; and figures of two women with cloak in pale-blue china : total value, £34. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the 7th and 9th May, 1927, from a farm at Henderson, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Lands and Survey Department), a tomahawk, a pair of snips, a Disston hand-saw, a claw-hammer, a cross-cut saw, a brace, a garden-rake, a small pruning-saw, a set of trap harness, a 2 ft. grindstone on stand, a Skelton spade, a long-handle shovel, a scythe, a slash-hook, and a pair of hedge-clippers, &c. ; total value, £2O. Not identifiable.

Auckland. —On the 30th ultimo the dwelling of ARTHUR JOSEPH HUTCHINSON, 12 Dromore Street, was broken into and the following stolen therefrom : £lO in money; a heavy gold fountain pen ; two gold Eversharp pencils ; a gold pencil with blue -protector ; a pair of tortoise-shell black hair-brushes ; a gold ring set with pale-blue Gurkon stone ; a gold ring with a dark-blue sapphire in claw setting ; a gold fine oval watch-chain ; a double gold watch-chain, long fine links squared at ends ; a gentlemen’s gold hunting Waltham watch, three-quarter size, movement No. 7784204 ; a rolled-gold watch with “A.J.H.” on front case; a Commercial Travellers’ Association badge with “ Hutchinson ” thereon ; and a Toronto (Canada) medal: total value, £69

Auckland. 29th December last, from the WhangareiAuckland express, the property of WILLIAM RAMSEY, Hikurangi, a gentlemen’s blue-nap overcoat, size 5, velvetcollar ; value, £7 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Mast (name unknown), age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 11 in., member of crew of H.M.S. “ Diomede,” fair complexion.

Newmarket. —15th December last, from the public school, the property of OLIVE E. HARVEY, a ladies’ old-fashioned open-face keyless gold watch, Roman numerals, case repaired with on value, £2. Identifiable.

Ellerslie. About October last, from a paddock at Mount Wellington, the property of ALFRED ROBERT SAUNDERS, Hayre Road, Mount Roskill, a draught bay mare, four years old, long head, small hole in top of one front hoof, heavy in foal; value, £3l. Identifiable.

Otahuhu. —On the 28th October last, the dwelling of MATHEW FINLAY, East Tamaki, was broken into and the following stolen therefrom : A shirt with small blue stripes, branded “ N.Z. H.B. Clothing Coy”; and £22 11s. 9d. in money, &c. : total value, £24 4s. 3d. Not identifiable.

Te Aroha. December last, from a farm at Hungahunga, the property of JOSEPH WICKLIFF, a 1906 model 22 Winchester repeating-rifle, No. 626907 ; value, £2. Identifiable.

Hamilton. —l2th December last, from Liverpool Street, the property of CECIL EDWARD FINCH, Liverpool Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Triumph bicycle, upturned handles, no grips, Wilby saddle ; value, £5. - Identifiable.Sts

Whakatane. 29th October last, the property of JOHN PORTER CAULFIELD, Otakiri, a gentlemen’s silver Omega watch, small chip out of enamel on left side of dial; value, £3 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Timothy

Tracey, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion and hair, large eyes ; dressed in a blue serge suit and fawn felt hat. Suspect, who was employed by complainant, was given the watch to enable him to know the time for milking purposes, but disappeared with it.

Taumarunui. —Between the 15th and 22nd ultimo, from a safe in Machin’s motor-garage, the property of ELSIE CLARA MACHIN, Hakiaha Street, a gold engagement-ring set with an opal in centre of a cluster of diamonds ; a gold ring set with a cluster of diamonds with emerald in centre ; a gold ring set with three diamonds, one missing ; and a gentlemen’s gold ring set mth a large diamond : total value, £llO. Wanganui. 23rd December last, from the Selwyn Billiard Saloon, the property of ALBERT CANDISH, 7. Bates Street, a gentlemen’s gold -hunting Coventry watch, gold dial, enamel figures ; and a 9 ct. gold fetter chain : total value, £B. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about forty-five, height about 5 ft. 8 in., stout build, ruddy complexion, brown hair, clean-shaved ; wearing a grey suit and felt hat.

Wanganui. Between the Ist January and the 30th August, 1927, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Post and Telegraph Department), a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel bicycle, No. 2694, upturned handles; value, £5. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. 4th ultimo, from the Railway Hotel, the property of PAUL CULLEN, a gentlemen’s reddish-brown rough-tweed overcoat, no lining, two outside pockets and inside ticket-pocket, “ Beath, Christchurch,” or “ Ballantyne, Christchurch,” on tag ; a Loewe pipe ; and a white silk scarf : total value, £lO Is. Identifiable.

Petone. —26th December last, from 14 Beach Street, the property of DAVID GUTHRIE BELL, a gentlemen’s blackenamelled free-wheel bicycle, No. 51127, straight handles, dark rubber grips, “ L. Jenness, Petone,” on transfers, No. C 9 Challenge saddle, Englebert tire on front wheel, Advance tire on back wheel; value, £5. Identifiable.

Wellington. 22nd ultimo, from the Arcadia Hotel, the property of ELIZABETH McKENZIE, 45 Devon Street, New Plymouth, an 18 ct. gold ring with five diamonds in claw setting, one missing ; a tan leather purse, two compartments, dome fastener ; and about £1 in money : total value, £2l ss. Identifiable except money.

Wellington. 6th or 7th ultimo, from the Central Diningrooms, Cuba Street, the property of PETER FREDERICK AYNSLEY, a gentlemen’s light-grey Don suit with green stripes, size 5, yellowish lining, -paint spot on each trouser-leg above knee, “ Don ” on lining near inside coatpocket; value, £7. Wellington. llth ultimo, from a dressing-shed at Lowry Bay, the property of OLIVER RICHARD PROUSE, 18 Molesworth Street, a gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold half - hunting watch, No. 59748, “ 0.R.P.” engraved on outside and “ 0. R. Prouse ” inside back case ; and a single gold curb watchchain with gold sovereign-case attached with “ 0.R.P.” engraved thereon : total value, £3O. Identifiable.

Wellington. —loth or 11th ultimo, from the People’s Palace, the property of ALBERT LESLIE WICKS, 8 Woodward Street, a leather suit-case, 24 in. in length, “E.A.W.” in gold letters on one side, containing a pair of navy-blue serge trousers ; a pair of white gabardine trousers ; a grey flannel coat; a sterling silver photo-frame with photo of woman and child ; a pair of oval gold cuff-links ; a gold stamp-case with “ K.G.” thereon ; and several collars, handkerchiefs, &c. : total value, £2O.
