Ohakune. 27th October last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of Thelma Kite, in a State institution, Robert Kinnaird, age forty-nine, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and mill hand, native of New Zealand, stout build, sallow complexion, black hair turning grey, dark eyes, scar on top of head ; usually dressed in a dark suit; fond of drink. Todd, alias Alfred James Lukoh, age forty-five, height 5 ft. 41 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, right fingers missing. Accused obtained £1 from W. 0. Hewitson, carrier, by falsely representing that he was a member of the Oamaru Fire Brigade. Wellington. —Between the 3rd and sth September last some person sent through the post to Henry James Whitehead Lord, farmer, Masterton, addressed to him at Magnus Motors, Ltd., Wellington, a parcel containing a cigar-box fitted with plugs of gelignite, a detonator, a glass tube of flash powder, and two small torch batteries wired and designed to explode when the box opened. Suspicion is attached to OitQ Benjamin Kuch, a resident of Wellington, who has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted. Any information regarding the offence is to be communicated to the Superintendent of Police, Wellington.
