Auckland. —12th instant, that he may be located and the Defence Department, Auckland, notified, of his address, Charles Kennedy, age eighteen, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes ; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit and brown felt hat. He is evading military training.

Auckland. —Ist instant, for indecent exposure, Man (name unknown), age about twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, fair complexion and hair, dark eyes ; dressed in navy-blue trousers, grey sac coat, and grey felt hat. In the Auckland Domain accused indecently exposed himself within the view of Grace Hutchinson, 27 Belmont Terrace, Remnera. No warrant.

Auckland. — dames Gordon Lomax, default of fine and costs : It has been ascertained by the Hamilton police that he left Auckland on the sth August last by the s.s. “ Maheno ” for Australia. (See Police Gazette, 1927, page 699

Auckland.— John Archibald Brown, failing to maintain : The name should read John Alexander Brown. (See Police Gazette, 1927, page 570.)

Auckland. During the night of the Ist instant some Person (unknown) broke and entered the warehouse of Williams’s Rental Cars, Ltd., 99 Albert Street, and unlawfully converted a motor-car, value £2OO, to his own use. The car was subsequently found abandoned at Hamilton. Any information regarding the offence is to be communicated to the Superintendent of Police, Auckland.

Te Aroha. —7th instant, that an order under the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Act, 1921, may be served upon him, Oswald Lockwood, age about twenty-seven, (looks younger), height 5 ft. 6 in., farmer, labourer, and boilermaker, native of England, medium build, air fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved; dressed in a dark sac suit and soft grey felt hat; erect gait. New Plymouth. — 6th instant, on warrant of commitment to New Plymouth Prison for one month in default of paying £4B 7s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Emma Ford, Avenue Road, Clarence Ford, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 8 in., motor-salesman, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair, mole on right cheek, lump behind one ear. New^Plymouth.— Frederick Hayward and — JDoyle, suspected of theft and unlawfully using a motor-car. (See Police Gazette, 1927, page 700.) They are also suspected of stealing a suit-case (recovered), value £6 Is., the property of Peter Donnelly, bookseller, High Street, Hawera. Napier. 4th instant, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for forty-eight- hours in default of paying £2 Is. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Ruby McDonald, Arthur Alexander McDonald, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 11 in., baker, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, long nose; butterfly on left forearm ; “ Ruby ”on right forearm. (15s. and £2 155.) fine and costs for a breach of the by-laws and driving a motor-car at a dangerous speed, Robin Gamble Hood, age twenty-four, height 6 ft. 21 in., salesman, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eves, left thumb-nail split, scar on left wrist and knee. Hastings. —l4th instant, that he may be compelled to maintain his children in a receiving home, Samuel Sturgess, age forty, height sft 51- in., bootmaker, native of England, fair complexion, brown hair, grey eyes ; scars near right eye, on left ear, and on each hip ; usually dressed in a blue suit and light-brown hat. Wanganui. —loth instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his illegitimate child, of whom Julia Masters Hart is the mother, Malcolm Nichol McCready, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. 6 in., baker and cook, native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, cast in one eye, quiet manner. Palmerston North.— A. M. Mason (false pretences) is now wanted for breaking and entering the dwelling of Martha Coles, Broadway Avenue, and stealing therefrom two chequeforms, value 4d. One of the cheques is referred to in Police Gazette, 1927, page 684, and the other he drew for £5 10s., and uttered it to Martin Luther Feist, draper, Main Street, in payment for a pair of blue serge “ Petoue ” trousers, and a pair of brown Bruce silk and wool socks, receiving £4 change. NO warrant. • He may he identical with A. Vercey, alias Samuel Potter, referred to in Police Gazette, 1927, page 623, and with A. Ryan, referred to in Police Gazette, 1927, page 458. He is not identical with Leslie Clifton Arthur Payne, alias George Henderson, vide. Police Gazette, .1927, page 684.

Palmerston North.- —11th instant, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920, Douglas Johnson, age eighteen, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes. Wellington. — -George Collins, failingto maintain :It has been ascertained by the Wellington Police that his correct name is William George Collins, and that he left Wellington for Sydney (Australia) by the s.s. “ Maheno ” on the 15th August last, having assumed the name Robert John Collins. Balclutha. —Between the 9th June last and the 14th July, on warrant for obtaining credit by fraud, Charles Willis, ago about forty-eight, height 5 ft. 6 in. labourer, medium build, sandy complexion and hair, small eyes, swaggering gait, fond of drink. Accused obtained goods to the value of £5 19s. sd. from Peter Shaw Grant, storekeeper, Puerua, by falsely representing that he was employed in the district by a man named Brown, whom he had previously worked for. He may be identical with Charles Herbert Willis, referred to in Police Gazette, 1918, page 47.

Winton. —22nd ultimo, on warrant for theft of a light-grey suit, value, £7 10s., the property of Alfred Henry Barnes, Otapiri, Bill Stevens (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-two, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, strong build, dark complexion, dark hair (brushed back), upper teeth missing, does not wear a hat. Accused was employed by complainant, and borrowed the suit to go to Winton, but failed to return. He is also to be charged with the theft of a white shirt with light purple stripes, a soft collar, a brownish tie, and a pair of light socks, value 155., the property of William Barnes. He may be wearing the stolen clothing and a blue overcoat. OM -€>^6
