PROPERTY STOLEN.

Devonrort. — Between April last and 12th .August, from a shed at 15 Jubilee Avenue, the property of ERNEST PATTERSON, a set of S.A.E. dies in leather case ; a set of Whitworth dies in wooden case; a nickel-plated Primus stove ; a smoothing-plane ; and a case containing chisels, callipers, and compasses, mostly marked “ W.R.T.,” brass plate on case with “ W.R.T.” thereon: total value, £ls. Mostly identifiable.

Auckland. —7th ultimo, from the Waitemata Rowing Club’s shed in King’s Drive, the property of LUDLOW BROOKER, Wynyard Street, a gentlemen’s silver keyless Waltham wristlet watch, No. 21047688, luminous dial, repair number 3660 scratched inside case ; and about 6s. in money : total value, £5 6s. Watch identifiable.

Auckland. —On or about the 20th June last, between Onehunga and Wanganui, per s.s. “ Arapawa,” the property of JOHNSON AND CO., Wanganui, two 60 lb. cases of Roma tea in 1 lb. and -J- lb. packets, “ Roma Tea ” stamped on cases ; value, £l6. Not identifiable.

Auckland. —Bth ultimo, from Queen Marv’s Avenue, Epsom, the property of JOHN ARTHUR JURE, 32 King Edward Avenue, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled Farmers’ Union bicycle, No. H.A. 369, reversible handles, rubber grips and pedals, 28 in frame ; value, £8 7s. fid. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Bth August last, from, the Bella Vista Private Hotel, the property of ENNIS MORTON, 5 Collins Street, Hawera, an attache and several frocks (recovered); a brown crepe de Chine frock ; a Swiss voile underskirt; two pieces of voile, one green and one mauve colour; 2-J yards pink tulle ; and 21 yards blue tulle : total value, £lO 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to James Weston (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-nine, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, sallow complexion, dark hair, cleanshaved ; shabbily dressed in a grey suit and grey felt hat. The photograph of Frederick John McDonald, referred to in Police Gazette, 1927, page 638, and Photographs, 1924, page 54, has been identified as that of offender. He is also suspected of stealing from 7 City Road on the 6th August last, a raincoat (recovered), a handkerchief, and a bus ticket, Te Kopuru to Dargavllle, the prope c^JLFRI 1 ]D_ LAMPQRT. Auckland. Bth August last, from the Seddon Memorial Technical College, the property of IVY MYRTLE BELL, 54 Bell View Road, a large black fox fur, two legs and tail, black satin lining with small pocket near tail; value, £lO. Auckland. On the 3rd ultimo the shop of RICHARD GEORGE PITCHFORD, 200 Hobson Street, was broken into, and £7 in money and two hundred cigarettes stolen therefrom. Not identifiable.

Auckland. — On the 23rd or 24th ultimo the store of WILLIAM ALEXANDER BISHOP, Titirangi, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A postal note for' ss. (recovered); a letter containing a cheque for £2O, No.- D. 421946, on the National Bank of New Zealand, Auckland, in favour of P. J. Woonton and signed E. J. Snow and R. B. Lusk or R. E. Fawcett; a dark-brown fibre suit-case with leather-bound corners, clasp at each end and lock in centre; 60 fourpenny stamps; 360 penny stamps; 240 halfpenny stamps ; £2 10s. in coppers ; a 10s. note ; and a quantity of cigarettes and tobacco: total value, £3O Bs. Cheque only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to P, Hagan or Mag in (name probably fictitious), no description available.

Auckland. 4th or sth July last, from a motor-car which was unlawfully removed from Burwood Crescent and abandoned in Shore Road, the property of ROY LLEWELLYN PEGLER, 37 Burwood Crescent, Remuera, a 6 volt Exide motor-car battery, 128 stamped on side ; a rubber mat lined with tigerskin ; a nickel spotlight with wire attached ; and an eight-day clock, about 5 in. in diameter, for fitting on motor-car dashboard : total value, £2O. Identifiable.

Auckland.— 4th July last,, from Scott’s Hall, Symonds Street, the property of WILLIAM WIN STONE MURRAY, 36 Pompalier . Terrace, Ponsonby, a gentlemen’s navy-blue serge overcoat, three-quarter length, three buttons on front; a gentlemen’s fawn Stetson felt hat, size 6f, red-and-blue band, “ Geo. Court ” on inside band ; and a knitted white silk scarf : total value, £ll ss. Identifiable.

Auckland. — loth ultimo, from the Metropolitan Hotel, the property of JOHN SHEPPHERD STREET, Market Street, Hastings, a fibre cane suit-case, reinforced corners, nickel fastener on each end, leather handle ; four gentlemen’s black striped shirts, 15J in. necks ; fifteen assorted collars, size 15 ; a nickel-mounted whisky-flask with “T ” on stopper; two plans of limekilns, may have “ Glenafton ” thereon; and a book containing lime-workers’ recipes, &c. : total value, £ls. Identifiable.

Auckland. —On the 27th ultimo the dwelling of EMMA WOLSTENCROFT, 23 New Bond Street, Kingsland, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : £lO in money; two cash-boxes, one painted black and the other black with gold lines ; a Post Office Savings-bank book, No. 195334, and an Auckland Savings-bank book, No. 27299, both, in name of complainant: total value, £ll 10s. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. — 24th ultimo, the property of JOHN GILLIES, s.s. “ Middlesex,” a gentlemen’s open-face gold keyless Omega wristlet watch, No. 1226, “ John Gillies, Leack Lee Harris, Scotland,” engraved on back ; a Swan fountain-pen; and £3 in money: total value, £lO 11s. Identifiable except monev.

Hamilton. 4th June last, from a motor-car in Ward Street, the property of FLORRIE CHAPMAN, 41 Ireland Street, Ponsonby, Auckland, a ladies’ three-quarter-length dark-brown fur coat, wide collar, blue floral lining, pocket on left side ; value £2O. Identifiable.

Otokohanga. — On the night of the 30th ultimo the auctionmart of RICHARD RAMSAY MORTON was broken into, and £24 11s. lid. in money stolen from the safe. Not identifiable.

Hastings. —2oth ultimo, from Karamu Road, the property of EDWARD LANGLEY, Karamu Road, a gentlemen’s black-enameled free-wheel Royal Enfield bicycle, No. 145619, upturned handles ; value, £B. Identifiable.

Wanganui. Between the 28th and 30th ultimo the dwelling of ERNEST MOOSMAN, 51 Moana Street, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A gentlemen’s gold keyless hunting Swiss watch, engine-turned cases, “ E. Moosman ” engraved inside back case ; a gentlemen’s silver hunting Elgin watch, No. 16568488 ; and a gold-mounted black ribbon watch-guard, four-pointed gold medal attached with “J. Thorpe, 1901,” engraved thereon : total value, £34. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, dark complexion and hair, clean-shaved ; wearing a dark suit.

Wellington. — On or about the Ist August, 1925, the property of WILLIAM SYMINGTON BROWN, care of .Armstrong, Whitworth, and Co., Arapuni, a -32 Mauser Automatic pistol, No. 165114 ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Wellington. — Between the 11th and 16th ultimo, from a garage at 125 Overtoun Terrace, the property of JOHN RICHARD DUNNING, 101 Overtoun Terrace, a 1926 model five-seater Cubitt motor-car, painted lemon-grey, black leather hood, disc wheels, Dunlop balloon tires on front wheels and on spare wheel, Firestone balloon tires on back wheels, registration number 68-056, engine number 5163, chassis number K. 4163 ; value, £4OO. Identifiable.

Wellington. —l4th August last, between Greymoutli and Christchurch, the property of DALE AUSTIN, a light-brown imitation suit-case, edges bound with dark-brown leather ; a ladies’ shell-pink georgette evening-gown ; a ladies’ blue velvet frock with grey rabbit-fur round bottom ; a pair of ladies’ fawn gabardine riding-trousers ; a brown knitted costume ; and a plum-colour felt hat, &c. : total value, £25. Identifiable.

Wellington.— On or about the 11th August last, from 8 Courtenay Place, the property of WILLIAM MURDOCH, 35 Maida Vale Road, a gentlemen’s gold keyless Howard hunting-watch, Roman numerals, “ Howard ”on dial; and a silver watch-chain, three strands of fine links : total value, £lO 15s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to hlasi (name unknown), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, fair complexion and hair, clean-shaved ; wearing a dark suit and bowler hat. Complainant left his watch at a shop for repairs, and suspect paid the repair bill and received the watch.

Wellington. —Between the 4th and 6th August last, from the Grand Central Hotel, Cuba Street, the property of WILLIAM KENMIR BUNGE, a compass (recovered); and an Evershed electrical testing megger in polished red wooden case, two terminals on one side marked “ Earth ” and “ Line ” respectively, turning-handle on one end, leather handle on top, Evershed and Vignales, makers : total value, £SO. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to W. Smith (name probably fictitious), age about forty-five, height about 5 ft. 7 in., slight build, ruddy complexion, dark hair and moustache turning grey; dressed in dark working-clothes and grey cap.

Wellington. l7th August last, the property of ELIZABETH WILLIAMS, 1 Nikau Street, a ladies’ 9 ct. gold keyless Swiss wristlet watch, No. 333-024, 15 jewels, white dial with “Swiss ” thereon, English figures, black moire wristlet with gold clasps attached ; value £3 ss. Identifiable.

Wellington.— 9th August last, from 4- Willis Street, the property of MOSES M. HINEMANNS, 33 Buller Street, a gentlemen’s double-breasted dark-grey tweed overcoat, vent in back, two outside square-cut pockets ; value, £7. Identifiable.

Wellington. the 18th December, 1926, and the 30th March last, from 82 Bolton Street, the property of HILDA MARY ALLAN, a fine platinum neck-chain, with several clusters of diamonds in platinum setting attached, may have “ -x- 4- ’ ’ scratched on catch; value £l5O. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —9th June last, from a shed in Worcester Street, the property of THOMAS LANCELOT SMITH, 23 Marlborough Street, Riccarton, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled fixed-wheel Carbine bicycle, No. 35713, upturned handles, Carbine transfer ; value, £6. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —10th June last, the property of WILLIAM LINTON, 713 Ferry Road, Woolston, a gentlemen’s blackenamelled free-wheel Speedy bicycle, No. B. 40102, upturned handles, Speedy transfer ; value, £5 10s. Identifiable.
