Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). theft of a scow (recovered), value £l,lOO, the property of McCallum Bros., shingle-merchants. The scow was removed by some person or persons unknown from the Western Wall, Freeman’s Bay, and abandoned on the rocks at Devonport. Any information regarding the offence is to be communicated to the Superintendent of Police, Auckland. No warrant.

Auckland. 26th April last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Reginald Armstrong, age forty-five, height 5 ft. 6j in., salesman, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair going bald, blue eyes ; ruptured. Bosch magneto (recovered), value £lO, the property of Alfred Henry Bull, carrier, Greytown, Sydney Stephen Holden, alias Holdem, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 11 in., motor-driver, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, brown hair and eyes, long straight nose, scar on right cheek, three small scars on right thumb, scar on left middle finger; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit and . peak cap ; suffers from asthma. Wellington. Bth ultimo, on warrant for theft of £1 55., the property of Keith Watson, 18 Hohiria Road, Hataitai, T. Doolan, age forty, "height 5 ft. 4 in., canvasser and salesman, native of England, slight build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes, long crooked nose ; usually dressed in a blue suit and grey cap. Accused received the above amount from John Robert Paton on terms requiring him to account for same to complainant, but failed to do so. There are other similar charges pending. Wellington. —l3th May last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for twenty-four hours in default of paying £1 10s. fine and costs for assault, Hester Rachael Dockrell, alias Rose Barber, age twenty height 5 ft. 6 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes ; wears a small black felt hat and dark-brown overcoat. Christchurch. On or about the 13th April last, on warrant for forgery and uttering, R. L. J. Bell, age about fortythree, height 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, clean-shaved ; wearing a soft felt hat and slatecoloured rough-tweed overcoat. Accused forged the name of L. Henderson to a cheque for £63 on the Bank of New Zealand, Christchurch, and uttered it to William Henry Seed, manager, 19 Cashmere Road. He may be identical with William McKay, alias Mackie, alias J. Nicolscn, referred to in Police Gazette, 1926, page 776, and with Dick Rutherford, alias Towns, referred to in Police Gazette, 1927, pages 321 and|322, L

His photograph is filed in the Superintendent’s Office,* Wellington. The reward offered for his arrest as referred to in Police Gazette, 1925, page 448, has been increased to £ls. Gore. —13th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for seven days in default of paying £4 Is. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his son, Henry Sherbaume, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 6 in., motor-driver and carpenter, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes ; scar on left hip and on each shoulder; left leg broken, and may be using a crutch or walking-stick.
