Whangarei.—2lst February last, from the auction mart of Thompson and Bagley, the property of ROBERT BRIGHAM, Tojvai, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled B.S.A. bicycle, Dunlop Railroad tires ; value, £3. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name. unknown), age about nineteen, height about 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, fresh complexion ; wearing a dark tweed overcoat and cap. *. •

Whangarei.— On the night of the 17th instant the store of MARTIN JOHN NELSON, Whatoro, was broken into and the following stolen from the safe which was forced open : £8 in money ; a black-japanned cash-box ,about 18 in. by 8 in. ; a ledger and day-book with store account written therein ; a cheque for £5 18s. on the Bank of New Zealand,

Dargaville, drawn by R. M. Donaldson in favour of M. J. Nelson ; a cheque for £7 4s. on the National Bank of New Zealand, Dargaville, drawn by F. L. Hodges in favour of M. J. Nelson ; and a cheque for £3 11s. 7d. on the National Bank of New Zealand, Auckland, drawn by Leslie McCartney in favour of M. J. Nelson. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to Pene Cassidy, alias Ben Cassidv, referred to in Police Gazette, 1923, page 123 ; Pers Cassidy, alias Perry Cassidy, referred to in Police Gazette, 1926, page 228 ; and William Daniels, referred to in Police Gazette, 1923, page 289. Auckland. — 30th ultimo, from the Criterion Hotel, the property of CATHERINE SIDDELL, a ladies’ envelope - shape black morocco handbag, long morocco handle, “ K.S.” engraved on silver plate on outside ; £1 15s. in money; a pawn-ticket, No. 45, issued by the British Loan Company, Wellesley Street, to E. Corson; and a pawn-ticket, No. 7407, issued by the Royal Loan Company to K. Fitzsimmons : total value, £l2 ss. Identifiable except money.

Auckland.— On the night of the 21st instant the shop of ELIZABETH KIRK, Ellerslie, was broken into and a quantity of tobacco and cigarettes, and a red tin money-box containing 16s. in money stolen therefrom; total value, £27 12s. sd. Not identifiable.

Newmarket. —22nd April last, from works at Orakei Road, the property of JOSEPH BURKE, 24 Toheri Road, Ellerslie, a gentlemen’s free-wheel Monarch Special bicycle, No. 20166, black-enamelled with red lines, reversible handles, rubber grips, Dunlop tires ; value, £8 7s. 6d. Identifiable.

Huntly. — On the 29th March last the dwelling of WILLIAM HENRY COPESTAKE, farmer, Glen Afton, was broken into and the following stolen therefrom : A double gold fetter-and-two-ovals watch-chain, a small square plain gold locket, and a metal watch ; total value, £8 ss. Identifiable.

Hamilton. —On the Ist instant the dwelling of Colin Speight was broken into and the following stolen therefrom, the property of ROSA GRAHAM, Auckland : A ladies’ envelope-shape red leather handbag, black floral design embossed thereon ; about £8 in money; and two snapshots of children, &c. : total value, £9 10s. Identifiable except money.-

New Plymouth. WILLIAM FITZGERALD, Courtenay Street, while at Moturoa, a gentlemen's gold ring, set with a diamond in claw setting, three holes in each side of setting ; value, £35.

Petane On the 31st January last the hut of JAMES BEATSON at Tangoio was broken into, and a gentlemen’s open-face silver keyless double-case Baume watch and a silver curb watch-chain stolen therefrom ; value, £8 Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Edgar George Casey, age twentyeight, height 5 ft. 4§in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, scar on left temple and thumb, brown spot on left forearm, right side of back deformed through spinal curvature ; dressed in a navy-blue suit and grey felt hat May be in possession of a gentlemen’s black-enamelled Massey-Harris bicycle with straight handles, which he is suspected of stealing from Port Ahuriri. Suspect asked to be shown some rings and after he had left the ring was missed.

On the night of the 21st ultimo the shop of ISABELLA MARGARET WEBB, Tokomaru, was broken into and the following stolen therefrom : About 15s. in money; a cheque-bosk on the Commercial Bank of Australia, Palmerston North, numbers 831801 to 831860 ; and a quantity of tobacco and cigarettes, &c. : total value, £8 Us. Carterton. —Between the 9th and 16th instant, from Chester Road, the property of DAVIS AND KELLY, Featherston, a tool-box, 3 ft. by 2 ft., with sloping lid ; five hand-saws, two jack-planes, six squares, four hammers, two tomahawks, an axe, two braces and twenty bits, two sledgehammers, four shifting-panners, four pliers, two crowbars, four shovels, four picks, and a light-blue canvas tarpaulin, &c. ; total value, £25 Is.
