Morrinsville. — 14th instant, for escaping from the police lock-up, Thomas Young, alias Tiny Young, age fifty-three, height 5 ft. 6-| in., -cutter, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair turning grey, hazel eyes, small sandy moustache, thin features, fore and ring fingers of one hand broken ; dressed in a blue serge suit and fawn felt hat; slovenly gait; fond of drink. Raurimu. — Wilfred Roland Wildey, escaping from prison : The photograph of offender has been identified by the Napier police as identical with William Thomas, who was employed as a hotel porter at Napier and Hastings, and later at the Wanganui gasworks. He was interviewed by the Wanganui police, but as his arms were not tattooed as shown in the description of Wildey he was not arrested. He has since disappeared, and it is now thought that he is identical with offender and that the tattoo-marks have been removed. Thomas was married at Hastings about nine months ago, and his wife is living at Wanganui. (See Police Gazette, 1926, page 174, and Photographs, 1924, page 82.)

Napier. — llth instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Gertrude Nellie Earnshaw, George William Earnshaw, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 7 in., wool-classer and labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion, black hair turning grey, brown eyes ; dagger and “ Death before dishonour ” on one arm ; horse-shoe, whip, and spurs on other arm.
