Auckland. 29th March last, on warrant of commitment to Invercargill Prison for two months in default of paying £ls arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, of whom Elsie Louisa Robinson is the mother, Thomas Muir, age twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 9 in., traveller, native of New .Zealand, slight build, fair complexion, dark hair. Waring (name probably fictitious), age about twentyfour, height about 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, fresh complexion, fair or light-brown hair ; dressed in a navy-blue serge suit and grey felt hat. Accused obtained a navy-blue suit with double-breasted coat (“ Schneideman ” on tab, and “ R. G. Waring ” written in pencil on a tab inside the.breast pocket of coat), value £7 19s. 6d., and £3 Os. 6d. cash from Schneideman Bros., tailors, by means of a valueless cheque for £ll Os. 6d. He also obtained from the “Kash” mercery a mid-grey tweed overcoat, value £5, and £4 17s. cash by means of a valueless cheque for £9 17s. He is in possession of a cheque-book, No. 2A006931-2A006960, on the Union Bank of Australia, Wanganui.

Levin. —Ist March last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £2 12s. fine and costs for indecent language, Frank Edlin, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, long features, high cheek-bones; dressed in a -brown suit; quiet manner ; fond of drink. pCtLcC V

Masterton. 26th March last, for indecent assault, Man (name unknown), age about forty-two, height 5 ft. 6 in., thin build, tanned complexion, dark moustache, deep lines each side of mouth and forehead ; dressed in a dark -grey suit and grey felt hat. Accused took Verna Constance Palamontain (age seven) into a shed at the Central School grounds, Queen Street, and indecently assaulted her. No warrant.

Creytown. John James Howe!!, alias Jack Hamilton, alias Thomas H. Woodcock, default of fines and costs, is also wanted at Carterton on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for seven days in default of paying £3 15s. fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order. Accused obtained a 14-in. “Pegasus” attache-case, value £1 155., and £3 15s. cash from Kim Williams, tailor, Mawhera Quay, by means of a valueless cheque for £5 10s. on the National Bank of New Zealand.
