Pukekohe. —12th ultimo, from' the person of WILLIAM HENRY BENTHAM, 17 Gracroft Street, Parnell, while boarding a train at Pukekohe, a dark-brown leather purse, three compartments, containing £35 in money; and a piano key with “ Beale ” stamped thereon, &c. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached t-o Man 1 (nqme unknown), age about thirty-five, strong build, fair complexion, cleanshaved ; dressed in a light-grey suit.

Otorohanga. Between the 15th and 26th ultimo the dwelling of SAMUEL BANCROFT HOLT, Wilson’s Road, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom ; A gold wedding-ring ; a gold engagement-ring set with six small diamonds ; an old-fashioned dress-ring set with a large ruby and two emeralds in claw setting ; a fine gold chain with lantern-shape pendant attached ; a gold chain with sovereign pendant attached ; a gold chain with round gold locket attached ; a gold brooch set with a cluster of pearls with turquoise in centre; a gold half-moon brooch; a two-bar brooch ; a silver-mounted Scotch stone eardrop ; a cardboard hag covered with black canvas ; two sovereigns ; and Is. 6d. in money : total value, £2B 6s. 6d. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about forty, height about 5 ft. 7 in., strong build, dark moustache ; wearing a dark hat. He is identical with Man (name unknown) referred to in Police Gazette, 1926, page 672, as suspected of theft at Palmerston North.
