PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. Between the 26th and 28th ultimo the dwelling of JOHN MURDOCK MILLER, 482 Dominion Road, was broken into and the following stolen therefrom : A -45 sixchambered breech-loading revolver, pin fire, J.M.M. carved on butt; a -45 five-chambered -loading revolver, No. 30025, maker A. Thompson ; two galvanic batteries in polished oak cases ; and a gentlemen’s old silver huntingwatch, No. 8765, keywind : total value, £ls. Identifiable.

Auckland. —2nd October last, from a railway carriage, between Taihape and Palmerston North, the property of EUGENIE PORTER, 135 Grafton Road, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold Baume watch, No. 1321678, “ Eugenie Porter” engraved inside back case ; and an 18 ct. gold watch-chain, small links : total value, £24 9s. Identifiable.

Auckland. — ultimo, from the dwelling of DORIS ELIZABETH NUTSFORD, 6 Goldsmith Avenue, Epsom, £2 in money; a ladies’ light gold rope pattern neok-chain with heart-shape greenstone locket attached ; a pair of ladies’ white canvas shoes, size 4, crepe rubber soles ; and a pocketknife with mother-of-pearl handle, two or three blades, tweezers, and nail-file : total value, £5 15s. Locket only identifiable.

Auckland. — On or about the 29th ultimo, from the dwelling of AGNES AMELIA SHERWIN, 19 London Street, a silverplated teaset, comprising a sugar-basin, fluted cream-jug, water-jug with floral design, and a plain teapot; a large screwdriver with wooden handle ; and about 2s. in money: total value, £6 4s. 6d. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. —10th instant, from the Lister Buildings, the property of TUI BEWS, 13 Seaview Road, Remuera, a ladies’ grey leather handbag, three compartments, mirror in flap ; an Auckland City Council motor-driver’s certificate, No. 11015, in name of complainant; and about £3 in money, &c. : total value, £3 10s. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. —20th September last, from a public telephonebox at Broadway, Newmarket, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Post and Telegraph Department), a telephone earpiece and mouthpiece combined, nickel earpiece with “P. & T.” stamped thereon; value, £1 2s. Identifiable.

Frankton Junction. — 13th ultimo, from the vicinity of the railway-station, the property of ALLAN FALLS MILLER, 84 Lake Road, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel bicycle, No. 4645, red grips, “ Farmers ” around drivingwheel ; value, £l2 10s. Identifiable.

Hamilton. — lst ultimo, from Clyde Street, the property of BERNARD STYLES, 17 Campbell Street, Frankton Junction, a gentlemen’s fixed wheel Rapid bicycle, No. 1007, blueenamelled with engravings, wide handles, black-rubber grips, one Barnet-Glass tire ; value, £l9 10s. Identifiable.

Hamilton. — 29th September last, from the vicinity of the Rugby Park, Frankton Junction, the property of ROBERT GREEN, 17 Seddon Road, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Earl bicycle, upturned handles, black Earl grips; value, £B. Identifiable. /cMAHfitswd 1 .2- t'St/.

Napier. — 24th ultimo, from a room at the Whakatu Freezing-works, the property of SAMUEL GLASS, Eskdale, a gentlemen’s open-face silver llolex wristlet watch, No. 235833, luminous figures, leather strap attached ; value, £3. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Harold Maurice, alias Horace Maurice, referred to in Police Gazette, 1926, page 140, and Photographs, 1916, page 34, who has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Manaia. — On the 3rd or 4th instant the offices of the WAIMATE WEST COUNTY COUNCIL were broken into and the following stolen therefrom : £42 ss. in money; a strongroom key with Hobbs and Coy., London, on handle ; and a safe key with Milner, Liverpool and London, P. 3933, on handle. Keys only identifiable.

Wanganui. 2nd September last, from Guyton Street, the property of HUGH CALDWELL, 15 Rata Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Massey-Harris bicycle, No. C. 20178 22 in. frame, upturned handles, black grips, White Star tire on front wheel, Michelin tire on back wheel; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Wanganui. —l2th October last, from Ridgway Street, the property of WILLIAM WILKINSON, 49 Alexander Street, a gentlemen’s Rudge Whitworth bicycle, No. 896859, blackenamelled with green lines, upturned handles, black celluloid grips, red Barnet-Glass tires, acetylene lamp locked on lampbracket ; value, £ls 15s. Identifiable.

Wanganui. — l6th October last, from the Putiki Rifle Range, the property of WILLIAM ROGER WILSON, 136 Gonville Avenue, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled Royal Enfield bicycle, No. 146086 or 146076, upturned handles, black grips, Brooks B. 18 saddle ; value, £l4. Identifiable.

Wanganui. — loth September last, from Taupo Quay, the property of JAMES HENRY BRUCE, a gentlemen’s blackenamelled free-wheel B.S.A. bicycle, No. 8221, straight handles, black grips, 24 in. frame ; value, £4. Identifiable.

Wanganui. — 2sth September last, from Wicksteed Place, the property of RINGA KEEPA, 84 Heads Road, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Aero bicycle, No. 26967, 24 in. frame, upturned handles, dent in top bar; value, £5. Identifiable.

Wanganui. —3lst July last, from Wicksteed Place, the property of WALLACE SHING, Ahurewa Private Hotel, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Colesbrook bicycle, 22 in. frame, K.M. stamped on bar under saddle, Dunlop tires ; value, £l2 10s. Identifiable.

Wanganui. — llth October last, from Taupo Quay, the property of JOHN VALENTINE HARRISON, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel B.S.A. bicycle, No. 545 B. 61008, Major Taylor handles, rubber grips, Dunlop tires ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Wanganui. —l6th October last, from the rear of the New Criterion Hotel, the property of HARRY DAVIS, 6 Gorran Avenue, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel B.S.A. bicycle, No. 1641 and 8.56042, black handles, Turner and Coy. stamped on mudguards ; value, £ll 10s. Identifiable.

Feilding. —On the 10th instant the dwelling of JAMES SOUTHEY FOWLER, Camden Street, was broken into and the following stolen therefrom : A ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring set with a cluster of about nine diamonds with a diamond on each side, one stone missing ; a ladies' 22 ct. gold ring set with an opal between two pearls; a ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring set with three rubies and six diamonds ; and £2 in money : total value, £67. Identifiable except money.

Shannon. — l6th instant, from a motor-car in the Main Road, Tokomaru, the property of ROLAND JUDD, farmer, Tokomaru, a heavy English travelling-rug, plain greyishbrown on one side, dark and light-grey cheeks on the other side, narrow black checks round edging ; value, £3. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to C. P. Lloyd, age about twentysix, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, painter, and seaman, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair ; dressed in a dark suit, white shirt with black stripes, and blue jersey. Shannon. lsth instant, from a motor-ca i/n the Main Road, Tokomaru, the property of JOHN ALBERT WILKINSON, Shannon, a gentlemen’s fawn-gabardine overcoat, one cuff repaired ; a brown composition attache-case, nickel fastener, “ Louisa Wilkinson ”in ink on inside; a mirror with white celluloid back; two children’s white voile dresses ; a 9 ct. gold brooch with scroll round outside ; two children’s white cotton petticoats and a camisole ; and a quantity of blue dress material, &c. : total value, £9 11s. fid. Lower Hutt. 3oth October last, from outside the Railway Hotel, the property of DAVID CAMERON, 23 Central Terrace, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled fixed-wheel bicycle, No. 127, reversible handles, black grips ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Lower Hutt. —On the 21st October last the hut of WILLIAM HENRY RAINS, Wainui, was broken into and the following stolen therefrom : A pair of gentlemen’s dark tweed trousers, size 6 ; a brown leather wallet; about 6s. in money; a gold keyless hunting-watch similar to illustration No. 2 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 1, “H.R.” on outside of case, “ W. Rains, Presented by father,” inside back case; and a gold watch-chain similar to illustration No. 29 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 2, one link broken, round gold locket with glass on each side attached : total value, £lB 7s. fid. Identifiable except money.

Wellington. — lßth October last, from Customhouse Quay, the property of THE UNION STEAMSHIP COMPANY, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Arab bicycle, slightly upturned handles, black rubber grips, Arab Special tires, “H ” cut into frame under crank bearing ; value, £6. Identifiable.

Wellington. —2Bth October last, from the person of WILLIAM ARMOUR while in the lavatory of the Clarendon Hotel, a rolled-gold hunting-watch, smooth cases, American make, sixteen jewels, No. 1996548, case number supposed 177720 ; and a double 9 ct. gold curb watch-chain with gold mounted greenstone pendant attached: total value, £35. Identifiable.

Wellington. — l7th or 18th October last, from the yard of the Public Hospital, the property of THOMAS SWINBURN DAVEY, a gentlemen’s Argyle bicycle, black-enamelled with green lines, upturned handles, Oceanic tires; value, £4. Identifiable.

Wellington. — l3th ultimo, from the Queen’s Private Hotel, the property of EILEEN CALDER, 211 Vivian Street, an 18 ct. gold half-hoop engagement-ring set with five diamonds in claw setting, ring has been cut; value, £3O. Identifiable.

Wellington. — l7th ultimo, from 40 Grove Road, the property of WILFRED LUTHER MORGAN, a gentlemen’s silver keyless half-hunting Dennison watch. No. 426820, white dial, English figures ; and a double silver graduated oval-link watch-chain, “ German silver ” stamped on each link : total value, £4 17s. 6d. Identifiable.

Dunedin. Between the 4th and 6th instant, from the bar of the Provincial Hotel, Stafford Street, the property of DANIEL SHEEHY, 122 Queen Street, a nickel-plated cashbox with patent alarm and battery ; a Dunedin Savings-bank book, No. 40037, and a Post Office Savings-bank book, No. 144148, in name of complainant; £2OO in money ; a

cheque for £5, No. 2.A.007056, on the Union Bank of Australasia, Dunedin, signed “J. Drumm ” ; a cheque for £3, No. 278956, on the Bank of New South Wales, Dunedin, signed “ V. Holloway ” ; and a Yale Identifiable except money.

Wellington. lsth instant, from a room in the Centra Hotel, the property of MARGARET DIAMOND, licensee, a string of pearls, graduated from the size of a small pea, with gold clasp; a silver jewel-case, about 6 in. by 4 in.; a string of blue-and-gold-coloured Italian beads on brown cord; a string of blue, brown, and greenish beads on brown cord; and a brown leather suit-case: total value, £65. Identification doubtful.

Wellington. —l4th instant, from Mercer Street, the property. of HATRICK AND COMPANY, Taranaki Street, a seven-seater buff-coloured 1924 model Buick motor-car, engine No. 1212541, chassis No. 91194, registration No. 1-709, disc wheels; value, £265. Identifiable. The registration numbers have been removed and plate No. 60-304 affixed to back (no number on front). The car was seen in Palmerston North on the 16th instant in possession of a Man, age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 4 in.; dark complexion, prominent front teeth; dressed in a navy-blue suit (no hat or cap), dark overcoat with belt, dark soft felt hat, coloured socks, and black fancy shoes; believed to be an engineer. /LZ S. Christchurch. 27th October last, from Hereford Court, the property of T. C. WIDDOWSTON, 17 Delworth Street, a gentlemen’s blue-enamelled fixed-wheel Avro bicycle, No. 451, racing-handles, Peerless celluloid mudguards ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —15th or 16th ultimo, from the dwelling of REGINALD HENRY STILLWELL, 70 Selwyn Street, Sprcydon, a dark-brown leather brief-bag; about £l4O in money ; a black leather folding-wallet; and a light-brown Parker Duofold fountain pen with gold band holder : total value, £142.
